Question about Brother XR7700

1 Answer

I tried everything i have a Brother SE-400. For the last three months I haven't had any problems with the machine now, I am getting a "check and rethread the upper thread error". Nothing I do seems to work.

Is your thread old? I had some thread that I was trying to use up and my machine decided that it did not like it all of a sudden. Maybe, unplug and totally rethread with a fresh needle. Sometimes, the little buggers get particular. Hope it is something this simple. Good luck

My se-400 brother embroidery machine keeps desplaying check and retread upper thread.

If you can see that the tread is there and in the correct place, the Thread Out sensor may not be working right.
Our solution with several Hus Rose machines was to disconnect the Thread Out sensor.

When i push my foot pedal on my Brother SE 400 machine shakes and goes into safe mode

TRY TO REMOVE YOUR BOBBIN CARRIER AND NEEDLE AND SEE IF THE MACHINE WILL MOVE SMOOTHLY WITHOUT THEM. IF IT IS RUNNING SMOOTHLY YOU KNOW YOUR PROBLEM IS THE BOBBIN CARRIER OR NEEDLE. YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT SIZE BOBBIN. ONCE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT BOBBIN YOU CAN PLACE ONE DROP OF OIL ON THE RACE (LITTLE TRACK UNDER BOBBIN CARRIER) AND PUT THE CARRIER IN. WITH YOUR HAND TURN THE HAND WHEEL TO SEE IF IT IS INSERTED PROPERLY SO IT ROTATES SMOOTHLY. THEY'RE IS A PLACE THAT KEEPS THE CARRIER FROM MOVING. YOU MUST BE CAREFUL TO LEAVE IT LOOSE SO THREAD CAN GO UNDER IT. IF IT IS STILL MOVING SMOOTH WITH YOUR HAND YOU CAN TRY THE PEDAL. IT SHOULD WORK. NOW, REPLACE THE BOBBIN MAKING SURE IT IS ROTATING THE RIGHT DIRECTION. I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH TO MAKE SURE THE BOBBIN IS THE RIGHT SIZE. IF THIS IS OK THEN REPLACE YOUR NEEDLE. THE NEXT STEP IS TO GO TO YOUR REPAIRMAN IF IT IS STILL A PROBLEM.

Call or email Brother. They have an outstanding service department, best I have ever seen. I'd give you the site URL but I don't know where you are located, they have one for many countries. If it is under warranty, just get in touch with them, you'll be pleased with their service, I am sure.

My brother Se 400 which is only a few months old just started running really slow. When I disconnect the foot petal and do the manual botton "the arrow button" it still runs slow. I don't...

have you checked to make sure the power cord is pushed in correctly?
if the power cord isn't the problem then it may need to be checked by a service tech, because it's not suppose to be running slow just a few months after you bought it.
I would call the people you bought it from & tell them what it's doing & see if they'll give you another one, I've been sewing for 30+ years & I wouldn't keep the machine.
good luck

Automatic needle threader on brother se-350

Hi - first, make sure that you raise the needle to as far up as it will go. When you thread the machine, make sure you pass the thread through each number along the path - there is a hook on the threader mechanism that is really easy to miss. It is always a good idea to refer to the book when you are having a problem.

You might also try changing the needle. The threader has a teeny hook that goes in to the eye of the needle from behind, grabs the thread, and pulls it back thru the eye of the needle.

The threader can go out of alignment. If you got the machine last fall, it should still be under warranty. You can call Brother and ask where you can take the machine for repair. Or, you can go to Brother's website and look for information that might be helpful.

Good luck,
Ginny
