Don't have to reformat. Below is what it is. You probably want to keep it.
You have the Camera Assistant currently open or minimized to the System Tray. You will find this program on many laptops where the integrated webcam is made by Chicony. For example you will find it on laptops made by Gateway, Toshiba, and Viewsonic amongst others. Using the Camera Assistant you can adjust brightness, contrast, colour, hue, etc... You can also take a video of what the laptop screen is pointing to, or you can take pictures.
If this answers your question, I'd appreciate 4 thumbs. I do this for fun and do not get paid.

Hi! I need help with my computer. I use a seagate ST380811AS hard disk in my desktop computer. The problem now, is that everytime I start my computer "A non system disk" appears on the monitor or...

1 Remove any floppy disks or bootable CDs, DVDs, USB flash drives or other bootable media from the computer. Attempt to restart the computer again. Proceed if you continue to receive the error.
2 Restart the computer again. Press the key required to enter your BIOS setup. (The monitor usually displays a "Press [key] to access BIOS" right after restarting your computer. Press the key shown on your screen.)
3 Navigate to the "Boot Options" or "Advanced" menu by using the arrow keys. (The precise menu terms will vary according to your computer and BIOS type.)
4 Select the hard disk that contains your operating system (usually C:) as your primary boot device. Select your CD/DVD drive, your floppy drive or another hard disk as your secondary boot device.
5 Save and exit the BIOS. Proceed with the next step if you see the "Non-system disk error" message again.
6 Restart the computer. Return to the BIOS' "Boot Options" screen by following the steps above, then set the "CD/DVD drive" as the primary boot device and the hard disk as the secondary boot device. Save and exit the BIOS.
7 Insert your Windows installation disc. Restart the computer. Press any key to boot from disc. Follow the on-screen prompts to reinstall Windows.
8 Replace your hard disk drive if you cannot install Windows.

I have Toshiba laptop with built in camera, but whenever i try to open the camera i recieve an error message 'CEC_Main.exe' reinstall. Kindly help how do i go about.

You also have Kasperkey ?
The error message 'CEC-MAIN.exe' is connected with the Camera Assistant Software,
You are unable to run the camera software because your KIS (Kasperkey Internet Security is blocking it by keeping "CEC-MAIN.exe" in the 'Untrusted File'.

Resolution:-

1) Launch your web browser

2) In the Notification Area (Down by your clock - Right click on the KIS icon and select "Pause Protection" > select "Resume manually"

3) In Notification Area: click on KIS icon elect "Applications under Control"

4) In the "Applications under Control" menu relocate "CEC-MAIN.exe" from the "Untrusted File" to the "Trusted File" - click "OK"

5) > Start > All Programs > CEC-MAIN icon to run your web camera program
Or My computer >> Local Disk (C) >> Program Files >> Camera Assistant Software Folder >> CEC-MAIN icon
Your webcam should now be running
Worth putting a shortcut on your Desktop at this stage .

6) With the webcam still running, then In notification Area - Right click on the KIS icon and select "Resume Protection"

7) Check the "CEC-MAIN.exe" in "Applications under Control" and confirm it is still in the "Trusted File"

8) Restart your computer

Portable hard drive won't save info. Message says drive is read only

While the drive is attached to your system and you can access it, open "Computer" or "My Computer" (depending on your operating system), then Right-Click on the drive and a menu will appear. At the bottom of that menu click on "Properties" and then make sure the drive is not marked as "Read Only". Also, go to the security tab in the "Properties" window and make sure your Administrator account and User account have Write Access to the drive.

If the above does not resolve your issue, make sure there's no write protection switch of some sort on the drive. I've never seen one like that, but it's worth checking.

Also, you could try unplugging the drive, reboot the computer, then plug the drive back into the computer once it boots back into Windows.

I hope this helps!

Best Regards,

James

How to reformat back to windows vista ?

You need a windows Vista disc. Insert the disc and follow the prompts. I would format the hard drive instead of upgrading do a new install. The best way would be to go into your bios and make sure the boot device order has the cd-rom booting before the hard drive. Then put the disc in and start the computer, when it says press any key to boot from cd hit any key and let it load and then follow the prompts to install.

I have no video output after reformating my hard drive. but the computer goes through its boot sequence.

Reformatting your hard drive means erasing your operating system.(OS). Therefore, you have to reinstall
your operating system (Windows XP, Windows 7)
After you reinstall your OS, you must also reinstall the
software driver for sounds, and video. All software drivers
must be compatible with your OS.

I cannot boot up my computer, it says a disk read error, press Ctrl+Alt+Del.

I hope it's simply a diskette in the diskette drive...
Otherwise, your hard drive may be bad.

If you moved the computer, the power or data cable may have come loose.

Open the case and check the cables. If you find an "extra" power cable in the case, swap that power cable with the one in the hard drive.

Problem of Window XP installation

usually when installation of windows fails is from more than one reason and lets hope that ur hard drive is not damaged (contains bad sectors).
try these steps :
1- use a different windows cd and a different cd rom if u can find one.
2- change the sequense of drives by changing their jumper positions and data cables ( master, slave)
3- try to clear cmos with the jumper located usually near the mainboards battery (short it for 3 seconds)
4- try ( low-level format) to ur hard drive and reinstall windows.

if the message is still seen then your hard drive could be seriously damaged.
