Question about Music

Open Question

I have this Kimball Swinger 1000 that I have stored for several years in my house for a friend. Now it is time to get rid of it. It has been un-plug during this time and today went to start it up. Since I know nothing about the instrument except to find the power key and the motor runs. I can get the top key board to produce sound, but the lower key board I can not get any sound out of it. Is there some special tabs or buttons to push to make the lower key board work?

Hi Bill.

The manuals for Kimball Organs are very difficult to find and are not available for web download.

The manual books can be purchased calling the Organ Service Corporation, which is the only source for Kimball parts and manuals.

They answer to the toll free number 800-457-4408 US.

Here the Organ Service Corporation website.

If you repute my solution helpful, then please take some times to accept the solution. Providing good repair tips requires time and skills, and your feedback is important for us.

Best regards.

SOURCE: I recently got a Kimball

First thing is to check the power supplies. You really need to get a manual that inclides the schematics. I suspect that one of the voltages is not present. Also look for cables that may have partially fallen off.

I have and antique Kimball serial number is 197287 trying to find out the value of it

Kimball piano values vary based on age and condition; as of 2015, many uprights sell for $10,000 or more. Kimball is a well-known brand, and several of its antique pianos are considered highly collectible.
The Kimball Piano Company, based in Chicago, was one of the largest piano manufacturers in the world. At the turn of the century, Kimball built approximately 20,000 pianos annually. Kimball produced pianos under different brand names such as Hinze, Dunbar, Whitney and Harrison. Styles were influenced by Victorian, Greek Revival and Arts and Crafts architecture, and upright models were often available as player pianos. Kimball was sold to the Jasper American Corporation in 1959, and its pianos were discontinued in 1996.
