Question about Epson Stylus CX5400 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

When I try to print a picture from GOOGLE on my EPSON STYLUS CX5400the colors do not come out right. The pictures have a reddish tinge to them-not the true colors. I have done aboyt 12 HEAD CLEANINGS and NOZZLE CHECKs over the last two days but the only color that comes up on the NOZZLE CHECK is magenta- the cyan and yellow do not come up. My ink levels are at 60%. Please tell me what else I can do to try to fix this problem. Thank you.

> the cyan and yellow do not come up

You've either got clogged jets, or those two ink-wells are empty.

If running a "cleaning" does not improve anything,
then try replacing the ink-cartridge.

ok..first you will need to print the nozzle check and see if all the color are printed out fine.. this feature is under the printer properties , under the utility tab.... assuming all your colors nozzle are printed fine..then the next thing for you to do is do the Print Head Alignment.. it's under the same place where you print the nozzle check.. when you press the Print Head Alignment, it will print a page out with many lines.. choose the one with the best alignment.. once u done that..try printing the image again..
oh..if your nozzle check print out is not good.. then you will need to perform head cleaning to clear the clogged head..

Cleaning cycle a few times. Get a CISS for your printer. It will save you TONS of MONEY, never change a cartridge again and it will pay for itself in a month.

MacBook Pro Epson Print Driver Dilemma

your problem is about profiles. The gutenprint is the only way to print from intel to r1800, but this driver don't use the same ICC profiles. You have to use one of three solutions below:
1 the best, you have a profile calibrating device, you make a profile of your couple ink-paper and you convert your document into this ICC profile.
2 you convert your picture into your software in one of the Epson generic profiles (hey probably still are on your computer) and you print whithout color managment
3 (awful) you anticipate the color distorsion and you tune your picture to be bad on the screen but pretty good on paper.

Printing

hello,
probably the printer takes his own color-profiles installed by epson.
Click on propriaties of the printer and create your own color-profile for diferent sizes.
you can take the color-profile from a smaler size and save it choosing an other size.
So You also can improove your pictures by changing the color-profile after your needs...
but then you should use the same paper , because different papers give different colors.
you can also improove the colors by choosing-on the profile-another type of paper.

i hope i could help
