There is a program that came with the installation Cd called Philips Device Manager. You can download it from www.usasupport.philips.com if you lost the CD. Use the Philips Device Manager to repair the player. If the device manager will not repair the player, then try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

How do I get the music from my lap top to my mp3

Connect it to your computer via the usb cable (you have already done). Using Windows Media Player, press sync and create a sync list, press start sync and it will transfer them to your MP3. REMEMBER, use the safe hardware removal mode when taking off your MP3 and do not try to operate it whilst still attached to the computer.

Drivers for Multimedia Player

Ignore the disc that comes with the player.
If using windows media player I simply ripped the tracks off the cd into mp3 to get them into the windows media library then synched the tracks to the player.
When you connect the USB cord between the computer and the player, windows media player will recognise it and show it in the left side bar.
Click on the mp3 player icon and then synch the tracks into the plyer list to import to the player (right side bar) I simply synch them all then remove the ones I dont want or drag and drop the mp3s from my media library into the player list to be synched.
Ignore totally the disc that comes with the player it is not required I think its only for 98 users to make it work it is not required with XP or Vista simply upload tracks to the player using a media player such as windows or real player.
So rip mp3s from the cd you want ....
When in mp3 mode (ignore if already mp3 on your pc) click the player icon when connected to the pc with the USB cable then select synch.

If your in Windows Media Player your library on your hard drive is on the left side of the screen. Do you see synch button on top of the screen? Click on refresh devices and see if your mp3 player is listed on the right side of the screen.

Sansa clip synch problem

Make sure the songs you are trying to sync do not have DRM-encryption on them. Converting to mp3 format is the best way to make them sync-able. Otherwise, you can find DRM removal software.

Also, reformat the player in Windows Media Player 11 - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything. Your player should be sync-able in WMP-11 now.

MPC895 won't play files

I had the same problem and solved it by: formatting the Coby MP3 player (again) in Windows Media; creating a new playlist in the window that appears at the left of the screen; synching the new playlist to the Coby; and when the player was 100% synched I left the Coby in my PC until I shut it down completely. Only when I saw that my PC was shut down, did I remove the Coby and it worked fine.

Load the Philips software onto your computer. You have to load the songs onto the player using WMP (Windows Media Player) 8 or 9. Connect the player using the USB cable. Run the Philips Go Gear Digital Audio Player software. Upgrade the firmware. This will format the player and erase everything you have done so far. Start WMP. Click on the Synch tab.It will have 2 window panes. In the right side, at the top, there is a drop list. Select the player from the list. Now create a synch list by clicking on edit playlist. Once you have added the songs, click Start Synch. That's all there is to it. Ian

Make sure the songs are in the right format. Napster is a real bear about disappearing songs - try another music svc.
