Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook

1 Answer

When I unplug the printer from my Dell Latitude D610 laptop, the battery icon appears on the bottom right hand corner instead of the "ON AC power" icon and the computers shut down due to a low battery. This happens when the power cord is plugged in. How could this happen?

Your AC power supply is not providing power - The printer is supplying your laptop with power via the usb port. When you unplug the printer, the laptop runs on battery until it goes dead. You will need another AC power supply,

Good Luck

No audio in my laptop

You probably muted it by accident. Have you checked it to see if you see a red X on audio icon on bottom right corner?

My dell latitude d610 ac power is work is properly but battrey is not charging plz tell me soulition.

If the D610 works when attached to the AC Power Cord, it is likely that your battery is not capable of taking a charge and needs to be replaced. I have 2 D610 Dell Latitudes and they are very good laptops.

How do I get my computer to recognized my new ac power adapter?

The computer doesn't need any drivers to recognize an AC Adapter. If you have purchased the correct AC Adapter for your laptop then it should just work when you plug it in. If it does not then my guess is either you have received a faulty AC Adapter or the DC Jack which you plug into in the back of the laptop is bad.
I am assuming your battery is dead and when you plug it in and turn it on nothing happens?
You can also try taking the battery out and try to power it on with the AC Adapter plugged in.

The Dell Latitude D610 takes a PA-10 or PA12 AC Adapter. It's 65W or 90W

For 90 watt Adapter the output voltage on your AC Adapter label should read 19.5V and 4.62A
At least that's what the Dell brand reads so it should be close to that.

Power for battery on DELL laptop Latitude D610 as posted FixYa

In the BIOS, does it show the battery and it's current state? As weird as it sounds, I've fixed an issue like this on a D600 by updating the BIOS to the most current level. Weird, but true.
