You need to access the cycling switch and the sensors in the dryer heater/blower housing and possibly replace the drying sensor bars by the door on the unit

My GE dpgt750 dryer will not power up sometimes, but if I unplug the unit for a period of time it will come back on.

I replaced my thermistor heat sensor in the back and it began to work immediately, then after 4 or 5 loads it repeated the same problem. The next time I got it to run I made sure to run it only at 3/4 temperature or lower and was able to keep running all day. Is there something I am missing with this fix? David

GE profile electric dryer, sounds like something is stuck in drum

Heating problem is most likely caused by one strand of your heating element is burned out. Heating element will have to be replaced if that's the case. Noise you are hearing is most likely coming from worn front and / or back bearing. Dryer has to be completely disassembled for either repair.

I have a G.E profile dryer dpgt750 cant seem to figure out how to take off the back panel, the dryer is making a loud noise sounds like possible belt problem. any ideals? THANKS MARTY

Marty, you need to remove the front cover on these and most dryers by removing lower front kick panel screws, then remove the front cover and then you access the top cover screws to remove top cover then you can access th drum belt

Plastic box with wire on back of ge profile harmoney DPGt750

It's hard to tell for certain from your post, but it sounds like you broke the wire to a thermistor (part # WE04X10111). It is a little temp sensor which extends into the dryer about a inch with two same colored wires coming out of the exterior end. Easy to replace. remove cover, remove one screw holding thermistor. unplug white disconnect block. install new part. very simple, saved the $118, only cost ya the price of the part. (maybe about $35 or so) A FixYa rating would be appreciated. Thanks.
