HP Officejet 7410 AIO keeps saying out of paper when plenty of paper loaded

Have had machine several years - often annoyed us with pulling paper from upper tray even though we set lower tray everywhere we could. Now will not feed paper - gives us error message that paper tray is empty when both trays are fully loaded.

Have almost exactly the same problem. (Although I only use the bottom tray.) Mine may print the first sheet of paper, but will say its out of paper when it tries to print any additional sheets, even though it is fully loaded. Have had this printer since early '06.

Once remove both the trays and insert them again and if the problem persists, power cycle and semi-full reset the all-in-one.

I have the same unit. There are many issues with it. First when you install the software you may need to add something to the registry.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Print\Printers\HP Officejet 7400 series\PrinterDriverData and create Key HPDJEnableSecondTray as DWORD with Value of 1

Once you've done this here is the biggest issue and one I've found to fix this issue PERIOD.

You need to go to your Printer Driver then to Properties of it then Device Settings Tab - you will see Form to Tray Assignment in the list and like 5 options, you have to make all but the one you want to NOT AVAILABLE. Example mine is set to Upper than Lower (Letter) all the rest are set to NOT AVAILABLE. Problem solved.

7410 HP MFC Shows no power.

If you mean that the power light isn't on, but the screen is stuck in boot-up mode, try this partial soltion; it's worked for nearly everone who's tried it. It's in reference to the officejet 7410 all-in-on, but I think it's worked for other machines. Unfortunantly, you lose your wireless capabilities, but at leat you're not left with a $500 paper weight:

My HP Officejet 7410 All-in-One keeps giving me the error message - Scanner failure - Turn power off then on. Turning power off then on, even disconnecting power cord, repeatedly does not solve problem.

Our HP Officejet L7780 displays the "Align Printer" message and then does it automatically wasting several sheets of paper aligning, then the next time we print a page the same message comes back. Is there a way to turn off the "align Printer" message. It is printing ok otherwise.

Sounds like the printer isn't passing the self diagnostics. Check for paper jams, pull the paper out and put it back in, check the ink cartridges.. unplug the equipment for about 30 minutes.
