Question about Makita Tools 18V 1/2" Lxt Lithium - Ion Hammer Driver - Drill Kit - BHP451
DO NOT Take the Batteries apart, you will see nothing more than a bunch of cells and if they are less than 1 year old than they may still be covered by Makita's warranty. Makita will Void that warranty if you open the batteries. Contact their service center they should be able to tell the age of your tool from the serial number or date code stamped in the tool. http://www.makita.com/en-us/Modules/Service/ServiceCenters.aspx or 1-800-4-Makita
If they are older than a year old you are out of Luck. While you cared for your tools, Hammerdrilling in general is an abusive application for batteries and will discharge the batteries quickly and reduce the number of recharges you will get on the battery. I always recommend people always use their cordless Hammerdrills only when corded power is not available
