Question about Euro-Pro Cordless Bagless Upright Sweeper - Blue/Gray

2 Answers

Can't find a site to order a replacement belt for my Shark model V15Z which I bought for our motor home. It was used very little before the belt broke. I will be trashing this vacuum, and will NEVER buy another Shark product.

I Looked everywhere for a belt for the shark V15Z hand vac. Very hard to find one and between the price of the belt and the cost of shipping unreal. I had a great Idea and it worked found a thick elastic band a bit smaller than the original belt and it works fine, It may not last as long as the orig. belt but very cheep to replace. If you can' find one thick enough put 2 or 3 thinner ones together. Hope this helps

I'm afraid I have to agree that this is an inferior product. I too purchased the Shark hand held vacum #V15Z. And like so many others, my belt broke after the second use. Having searched the internet for a replacement, I finally ended up on the shark website having a live chat. This was absolutely useless and absurd. I was told that the model did not exist and that they do not make belts that small. The advice I was given was to return it. Gee very helpful after having dismantled the whole stupid thing trying to get to the belt in the first place because there is no instruction manual to cover this problem.

How do I change the belt on a Shark Rocket

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

Always unplug your vacuum from the power source before performing this. Use a Philips or a crewdriver - to open the screws keeping the roller covered. The screws are located in different places depending on models but they are easy to spot. Hold the roller ending and remove it from the holder. Hold the roller at the end furthest from the belt. When that end is free, repeat with the other roller endings. Slide the belt off the roller and, after that, off the motor shaft. Clean throughout the brush roll with a hairbrush, a pair of scissors and a pair of pliers (if necessary) to get rid of all hair and debris. Be careful or you could cut the bristles. Slide the belt over the motor shaft then over the roller and finally over the seat. Hold the roller at the two ends and separate it from the motor shaft making sure that the tension at the two ends is equal. Partially attach the end furthest from the belt then tightly pull the other end and partially attach it to its holder. When the two ends are in place, push them in. Reassemble the brush roll cover and protect it, using the screws you've just removed. Place the vacuum machine upright, connect it to the electricity outlet and check the roller.

How to change a belt on a shark v15z vac. tks john t

John -

Your vacuum doesn't have a belt - only vacuums with rotating brushes use drive belts.

What problem are you having - why do you think you need to change the belt?

The belt broke on my my SHARK Model V15Z and Euro Pro hasn't responded to my request for a new belt w/ directions as how to effect repairs.

Well it's actually not so bad once you realize where they hid the screws. Gently pull outwards on either side of the housing that surrounds the brush and vacuum. There are no screws for this piece it simply snaps off and on. Once this piece is removed you'll see two phillips type screws on the side where the removable hose attaches. Remove the two screws and pull off the molded section they keep in place. The brush will now come off revealing the rotor that the belts slips over. The belt is placed over the rotor and the brush cylinder in a figure eight. Reassemble and your ready to go. Now if Shark will only help customers locate a replacement belt you may find this info useful.....
