The freezer seems to be fine and very cold, not ice build up. I have already checked the hose in back that drains to the pan under the unit, it was not clogged. I took an air hose and blew it out, nothing!
The refrigerator temp is set on 4, freezer set on B

First thing is to check your door gasket on the door and make sure it is sealing when the door is shut. Next, pull your fridge away from the wall and remove the bottom front grill and then pull the pan out from underneath the fridge. Clean it and remove dust from the cooling coils using a brush or shop vac. The pan underneath the fridge collects condenstaion/moisture and if the drain line is clogged with dust and dirt then it can't drain. Clean the exterior of your fridge at least once every six months.

I have a Sears Kenmore model 106.5002 refrigerator. The ice machine keeps building up blocks of ice. We have melted it with a blow dryer. It works and dispenses ice.

Suggest turning the ice maker off by elevating the shutoff lever arm. If ice continues to build after a few days the solenoid water valve is leaking and needs to be replaced.

If no ice build up it is likely that the fill tube is dirty and water is freezing in the tube disrupting the normal tray fill process.

We have a leak inside of the refrigerator. Water

Self-defrosting refrigerators usually dispose of the water generated during the defrost cycle via a tube or channel that directs the water to a pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. From the pan, the water normally evaporates. (See a more detailed explanation of this in the How Things Work section of our website). If the tube or channel is clogged or obstructed, the water backs up and leaks into the inside of the refrigerator compartment. Then the water builds up at the bottom, inside of the refrigerator. When the water has built up for a time it may spill out of the front of the door opening. To fix this problem, clear the drain tube or channel and allow the defrost water to flow down to the drain pan. In some refrigerators, the defrost water is intentionally directed down the back wall of the refrigerator, where it then flows to the bottom of the refrigerator compartment and out to a small drain--usually located beneath one of the drawers at the bottom of the refrigerator. If the drain becomes clogged or blocked, the water may back up. To fix this problem, clear the obstruction. Another cause may be the following. The refrigerator may have doorframe heaters to evaporate any condensation on the cabinet frame. If your refrigerator is equipped with a switch inside that says “energy saver” or something similar, while running in that mode the door heaters are disabled. Turn the switch to the opposite setting and wait 24 hours. If the condensation disappears the problem is solved.

Model 501-64822 is a self-defrosting Kenmore that is building up ice in the freezer and then somehow melting and running down the inside of the fridge and onto the floor.Any suggestions??

Hi, Look that model # up again please. The problem you are having is the defrost drain is plugged. Remove the rear panel inside the freezer and melt all the ice. Locate the drain hole and flush it out with hot water. Some modles need an after market drain heater kit. Get me the model # and I can look this up for you.

Water leaking inside the refrigerator

Hi

Most times this is a plugged defrost drain system. The defrost heater in the freezer section melts the frost and changes it to water, this water is suppose to flow down a drain system. If this drain system is restricted or plugged the water will leak inside the refrigerator. The drain system starts in the freezer section with a tray built under the evaporator coil. The water is funneled through a small hose into a cup in the top middle of the fresh food section ( not on all models, but this is the most common way ), from there, the water is directed out the back wall to a drain hose that runs down the back of the refrigerator into a condensing tray. The heat created under the fridge makes the water evaporate and disappear. Some of the cups ( in the top back of the fresh food section ) can be removed for cleaning. A turkey baster can be used to help clean out the drain system. Fill the baster with hot water and "blast" it into the drain hose to help flush it out. A piece of wire or pipe cleaner can also be pushed into the drain hoses to help clean then out. On a S x S style of fridge the drain system is in the bottom back of the freezer section and often you will have to remove the evaporator cover to access the drain hole. You can clean this out in the same manner as previously mentioned, but because of the water leaking into the freezer instead of the fresh food section you will have to remove the ice build up to clean out the drain system. For some reason Whirlpool has found a need to "hide" the drain hose inside the walls now ( Whirlpool makes many of the Kenmore branded refrigerators ) on there top freezer refrigerators. This makes accessing the drain hose to flush it out more difficult, no cup inside the fresh food section, no hose down the outside back wall and the only access is inside the freezer section behind the back false wall and under the evaporator coils.

Please do rate the solution as FixYa if found useful and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Kenmore # 63142 Fridge -- Water in Freezer

If water drains out, then there is always a blockage somewhere on drain line.

Defrost the unit completely to get rid of ice building inside drain lines.

If that does not work , then the drain line must be unlocked using a flexible shaft.
