Question about Mag Innovision 19" LCD Flat-Panel Monitor LT916S

1 Answer

The monitor with no picture

I first had the problem where the capacitors weren't changing and fixed it. It worked for a while until one of the capacitors broke. I replaced it again and now it seems like the whole picture doesn't come up. Instead it just shows a few lines for a second until it goes blank. The light on the bottom of the screen also just turns orange after a while showing that its not picking up a signal. I'm really stumped on what the problem is other than maybe it being a burnt out screen.

There are few possible reason that the screen doesn't comes properly. You should check these things carefully 1. Make sure the capacitor chipset is good . 2. Soldering need to be perfect ( because if you put more than it needed then sometimes it make problems). 3. Check the LCD paper displaced or not.

I need to replace the fluorescent panel starter in my flat panel monitor

The problem is not with the Fluorescent Backlight of the Monitor, it's the Capacitor! Replace the Capacitor on the Power Circuit Board of the Monitor. The Capacitor will be slightly bulged! Use the same ratings of the dead Capacitor like it's Volts and Micro Farads. After adding the new Capacitors your Monitor works like new one. Enjoy!

Flatron L1732-s monitor is stuck in power saving mode. How can i fix this?

If you have a blinking power light and no picture or no power at all then the issue is not power save mode, it is a failure of the filter capacitors on the power supply board. The model monitor uses the AIP-0108 power board and when the filter capacitors go out you get the flashing power light. Here is a link to so information showing which capacitors will need to be replaced to rebuild the power supply board and get the unit back up and running.

And here is a picture of the power supply board with the capacitors circled in yellow.

Flashing green light and no picture. Resetting the power source and the connections won't work.

Open the monitor and find the power PCB. Look for blown capacitors. Replace all low voltage capacitors even if they look OK.
The power PCB is overloaded by shortage in these old capacitors.
If the monitor is not fixed now, replace two more capacitors - the big one, on 400V and a very small one on 50V in the high voltage circuit.

My 194wt worked great for 3 years, now it wont turn on at all. is this the normal life of this monitor ? how can i fix this ?? ive confirmed 120v at power inlet and some dc voltage on various mini pins on...

Same problem as above. Had mine for 2.5 years and worked fine until I tried to turn it on this morning - won't come on at all. I have tried another power cable and verified that another monitor works on the old one.

My Princeton LCD monitor VL1919 takes about 15 minutes to lite up. the blue indicator flashes until it turns on.

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you have additional questions just email me. If you can't do the repair we offer a repair service, contact us for more details.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Westinghouse LCM-19w4 has power, but blank screen

refer to an earlier post about similar problems. Does it power up and then shut itself off. this is possibly due to two defective capacitors. 27 cents on line $1.50 at radio shack. They will be puffy on top. I am a complete novice to soldering a capacitor onto a board. but since I was junking the monitor otherwise I gave it a try. It's still working after sitting idle a year. Handy advice on soldering online. use copper wire to **** up the old solder and try not to fry the capacitors or the board. If I did it anyone can.

Screen won't stay on

This is a common problem with LCD monitors after a few years of use. The capacitors in the power supply board start to fail and this prevents the monitor from starting up correctly. Sometimes you get a picture and then it goes black. On some units you can keep pressing the power button and after several power up cycles the monitor will work until you turn if off. These symptoms are all common with capacitor failure. The monitors are well out of warranty now so Viewsonic will not cover the repair cost. But the repair is very easy to do yourself. You just have to replace the 6 power filter capacitors on the power supply board. Here is a link to additional information on this repair.

I hope this helps, I have repaired over 30 of this model with the same issue.

E153FP Monitor screen goes black light is green

The capacitors are probably bad. It is a common problem and easily fixed by taking it apart and replacing the capacitors. Try to find Rubycon Capacitors because they very rarely go bad. Do a search on google for bad caps. I have fixed about 30 monitors this way. Dell is a company well known for bad capacitors. It may not be your problem but replacing the capacitors should cost less than $10 if you do it yourself. www.photphot.com
