Need to know what switch this is that needs to be replaced, I'm told by a parts store that it is a harness and is $250.00. Is this correct or can you give me a part number?

The water dispenser and ice maker no longer work. I asked the question a few weeks ago but have not had time until this weekend to act on the resolution. I was told to replace the switch for the water dispenser and this would help resolve the ice maker not working anymore. The problem is that there are several switches as I've been told and not sure which one I should replace.

All the lights work and the ice maker has not worked at all for almost a year and the water dispenser was working the odd time but has now stopped working altogether. No water coming into the ice maker at all. I've checked and all the sensors are working.

Lights all work and sensors all work but no water coming into the ice maker and the water dispenser has quit working altogether now. I asked the question a few weeks ago and I was told to replace the switch for the water dispenser and this would correct the ice maker. I checked on the parts and I was told there are several switches and I'm not sure which one to replace. There is a harness with a switch attached as the parts people have told me but it is 250.00 but they are not sure either if this is what I need. Its a shame because the fridge is only 5 years old.

I went through both suggestions and nothing works. I think I may have to replace the switch as suggested. The appliance parts stores does have a harness in stock so I will have to check it out during the week. It seems a little high in price but if this is what is going to get it to work I'll have to try it. Unfortunately I would hate to spend 250.00 and find out after that this is not the problem. I just checked the water line in the fridge and it does not appear to have water in the line. Could be something downs stairs but this would not explain why the ice maker stopped working and the water dispenser kept on working for almost a year after.

Just to let you know I replaced the control panel switch today and the water dispenser now works and the ice maker is now making ice. A $250.00 dollar fix but everything works.

    Thank-you for your help.

I replaced the master switch and the water dispenser now works and the ice maker makes ice but does not deposit into the ice bucket, seems to stop half way and thats as far as it will go. If you remove the ice by hand it will make more but does not complete the cycle. Is the motor going on the ice maker?

just to make sure, the ice maker do not work at all, you are sure the wire is down and there is not noise or anything to tell you that the ice maker wants to work. Also there is no water coming into the ice maker, is that correct.??

On the dispenser side, is there any lights on??

Click on the following link to see the electrical part on the dispenser

I am pretty sure this is the part they are talking about since is the part that control the dispensing of water and ice. In this site says that the device has been discontinued. I'll look in another places while you can check on the following.

Disconnect the unit from the wall for 5 min. and plug it back up, check to see if the switches are still nonoperational. With some luck the, the circuit will reset.

If this don't work check this:

Your dispenser can be turned off for easy cleaning or to prevent

unintentional dispensing by small children and pets.

NOTE: The lock feature does not shut off power to the product, to

the ice maker, or to the dispenser light. It simply deactivates the

dispenser levers. The ice and water dispensers will not work.

Style 1: Press the LOCK button to lock the dispenser. Press the

UNLOCK button to unlock the dispenser.

Style 2: Press and hold the LOCK OUT button to lock the

dispenser. Press and hold the LOCK OUT button a second time to

    unlock the dispenser.

The ON/OFF switch is located on the top right-hand side of the

    freezer compartment.

To turn on the ice maker, slide the control to the ON (left) position.

To manually turn off the ice maker, slide the control to the OFF

    (right) position.

NOTE: Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. The ice maker

sensors will automatically stop ice production, but the control will

remain in the ON (left) position.

The ice maker needs a lot more pressure to work then the dispenser, If you don't have at least 30 psi of water pressure coming into the unit, the dispenser will work but the ice maker won't,, check your filter and inlet water valve before buying any parts. If you hear a click (there is a micro-switch that activates the dispenser)when you place a glass into the dispenser it means that the dispenser is trying but there is noting to dispense. So, check your water supply first. Good Luck!!

Check if the control module is OK, and try to identify if there is a broken part, if not, the whole ice maker assembly must be replaced. Click on the following link for ice maker accessories and prices.

Is the part the correct one? Whatever the part is!

You ALWAYS take your old parts to the store
to match them up,unless you buy on the internet

Because the wires are a different color, doesn't mean
the connector isn't correct & the part is not the correct one

Is the question only about wire color & not fit & form?

Parts do not always match the vehicle harness color

How do i replace the wire harness connector that clips to coils on jeep liberty sport 6v 3.7l

It's pretty basic on this. Test your clip by plugging it into the coil first, and make sure that it is the correct one. If yes, you need to simply cut the old plug off and connect the wires to your new one (in the right order) with a simple but connector sold at any auto shop/parts store or electrical shop.

Headlamp melted in the wiring harness connection

If all you need is the connector & any wiring damage your going to
take care of with new wire, soldering & heat shrink tubing, then work on
finding the connector with the pig tails or even just a connector

Try online part stores, local auto part stores & then a salvage yard

At the salvage yard you hit a home run & cut off the perfect piece you need

Take the melted part with you for a sample, as well as a head lamp it connects to

What amperage is the fusible link at the fuel pump harness on a 2009 Hyundia Sonata

The dealer or a parts store (if they can order it) would know the necessary rating of the fusible link-the color code may also tell the correct amperage and gauge. If possible, might help if you take it with you when ordering a new one. Fusible links are cut out and replaced.

I just got a 1997 sebring with the 2.5l engine that is having misfiring and stalling issues. im told there are two different distributers with different shaft diameters for this year car but noone can tell...

The difference between the two distributors are the drive shaft diameters, they are NOT interchangeable. The distributor rotor must be correct for the distributor it is installed in, this part is also not interchangeable between the two different ones. If the parts stores can't tell which distributor you need, call the dealer, give them your vin number, and they will tell you the correct diameter for your car. Once the parts store knows which distributor you need, they will know which rotor you need.

the "dimmer switch" is part of the combination switch. They wear down, internally - I've taken apart a used one, so I know. Also, the headlamp connectors like to corrode on that model year ( I also have 96 civic, and had to replace a headlamp connector). (parts 8 and 9)

I'm trying to change the oxygen sensors in my avalanche and I was told it was relatively easy, however I do not know where they are located. Can u help?

buy some new O2 sensors at a parts store and take them to a muffler shop. those guys have a lift and know exactly where they go. lift makes it ever so much easier as well as a good long wrench. the guys at the parts store will know how many you need 2 or 4. spend some extra money and do not get the universal ones, get the ones made to plug into your wiring harness. they sell these on ebay also.

I believe yes, you can replace just the switch. You will need to unplug the wire harness to the switch from under the dash/column area and fish it out, and the steering wheel will need to be removed.
