I am sorry we seem to be flogging a dead horse here. I live in UK where the colours of the live nuetral and earth seem different to those at page 10. Perhaps its best if I let the food spoil and I call in a 240V50Hz UK aware repair person tommorrow morning as it is 1015PM here now

I need to replace my electric cord on my Craftsman circular saw. I have the replacement cord and have opened the saw. The new cord ends with just a black and white wire. But the old cords black and white...

my best advice is to sever the wires going into the unit at a point where they are in good condition, obtain a soldering device and solder, some heat shrink tubing addtiquit for the size of wire and connect your new power cord to the these ends, make cretin that the common or wight and the hot witch is black be connected respectively

Good luck and best regards Falco Mueller

Miracle mate power head not getting power

Most likely you have a broken wire in the neck assembly, where the wand meets the floor nozzle. To check unplug the cord and remove wand from floor nozzle. On the neck, remove 3 small screws and slide the cover off the back of the neck. You will see 2 wires, one white and one black. Gently tug on each to see if if they are connected. If one is loose you have the problem, if not you will then have to remove the five screws that hold the cover on the nozzle body and trace the connection to the circuit board.

I need to change my 3 prong to a 4 prong

Unplug the dryer then remove the terminal block cover and disconnect the 3-prong cord from the dryer. Note that the cord has red , black, and white wires but sometimes the red and black wires are both replaced by same color wire, usually gray and can switch places. There's also a ground strap wire also connected to the center terminal together with the white (neutral) wire.

Get yourself a 4-prong cord and note that it has red, black, white, and green/yellow wires but sometimes, like the 3-pronged one, the red and black wires are both replaced by same color wire, usually gray and can also switch places. All you have to do now is connect the 3 wires in the same manner they are connected as 3-prong cord to the terminal block. The ground strap wire now just need to be connected to the remaining 4th wire, the green/yellow wire instead of the center terminal together with the white (neutral) wire. Reinstall the terminal block cover and it's done.

It can be observed that converting a 3-prong cord to 4-prong cord is merely splitting the neutral line and the ground thereby increasing the number of prongs from 3 to 4 whereas, on the other hand, converting a 4-prong cord to 3-prong cord is merely joining the neutral line (white) and the ground (green/yellow) thereby reducing the number of prongs from 4 to 3.. The links below might enlighten you further on this matter.

Need to replace 4 prong cord with a 3 prong cord on a new 500 series dryer.

On the back of the dryer, remove the screw(s) that hold the access cover to the back panel that cover the terminal block where the cord goes through the back panel and connects to the wiring terminal power block, loosen the two screws on the cord clamp the clamp it to the back of the dryer just enough to release the cord, remove the four nuts / screws that are connecting the 4 wires from the cord to the terminal block and or the back of the dryer, with the new 3 wire cord just match the colors on the terminal block with the same color wires that are connected to the other side of the terminal block, red, black on the outer most terminals and the white or green to the middle terminal, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU PLACE A JUMPER WIRE/STRAP FROM THE MIDDLE TERMINAL WHERE THE WHITE OR GREEN WIRE CONNECTS TO THE TERMINAL BLOCK OVER TO THE CASE/CABINET OF THE DRYER, THIS CAN CONNECT TO THE CASE AT ANY AVAILABLE SCREW NEAR THE TERMINAL BLOCK! In short this means that the neutral and ground of the dryer must be connected together in a 3 wire set-up.
GOOD LUCK!

How do you hook the four wire electric cable to the terminal marked L1, L2, L3? the wires are colored red, white, black and green.

To connect power cord:
• Remove the screws from the cover of the
junction box located at the top rear of the dryer.
• Loosen/remove the two screws on the strain
relief clamp and remove from 4-wire supply
cord.
• The strain relief splits into two indentical parts.
• Insert the large flange of both sections into the
hole located on the left side of the junction box
housing. The short flange of both sections and
screws must remain positioned on the external
side of the junction box housing.
• Insert the 4- wire supply cord through both
sections of the strain relief and re-install strain
relief screws, do not fully tighten until electrical
connections are complete.
• Attach the power cord ground conductor (green
wire) to the ground terminal marked with the
ground symbol. Tighten screw until ground
conductor is secure. (See Fig. 7)
• Attach the power cord neutral conductor (white
wire) to the neutral terminal. (marked N)
Tighten screw until neutral conductor is secure.
(See Fig. 7)
• Attach the power cord phase conductor (black
wire) to the phase terminal (marked L3).
Tighten screw until power conductor is secure.
(See Fig. 7)
• Attach the power cord phase conductor (red
wire) to the phase terminal (marked L1).
Tighten screw until power conductor is
secure.(See Fig. 7)
• Tighten the screws on the strain relief so that
the power cord cannot be moved.
• Re-install the cover of the junction box and
secure with four screws removed earlier.
• The dryer is now ready to be connected to the
power supply receptacle.

Mains wire at back of fridge has come out how do i re-wire it

Hi, are you saying that the main power cord has been pulled loose from all connections? Has any componants come along with it? Wiring a power cord is fairly an easy task if you are familar some what with wire colors for a 120 volt power cord. You should be able to take a good look at where it has come apart and reconnect the cord with wire connectors, as Hot would be black to black, and white is nuetral, so white to white and green for ground to the appliance. Now, If you have accidently pulled out the wiring from the compressor terminals, as the start, run, and common terminal, I need to no this to quide you through this, as there is also a overload relay that is wired through the common terminal to protect the compressor against an overload. Please get back to me if this has happened.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

Admiral Clean-O-Matic oven: Power cord black red white ground?

Your terminal block has been by-passed .
Hook your black cord wire to the black screw on the terminal block.
Hook your white wire to the white screw on the terminal block. Hook the bare ground to the exterior ground screw.
The 2 wires that are wire-nutted together will have to hook to the red wire on the cord.(they originally went to the third connection on the terminal).
You will probably have to cut and strip the red cord wire and attach it with the 2 wire-nutted connections.

4 wire power cord connection

The difference between a 3 and 4 wire cord is the 4 wire cord separates the ground and neutral, where the 3 wire grounds through the neutral. The 4 wire cord gives an extra safety against electric shock. The red and black wires on the cord go to the red and black wires on the terminal block. Then you have to determine where the green wire on the dryer goes, if it has one. Some dryers have the green wire spliced into the white wire maybe 6 inches from the terminal block. If this is the case you will hook both the green and white wires on the dryer to the nuetral (middle) terminal with just the white wire on your cord. Some dryers have a ground strap, a flat narrow peice of metal that goes from the neutral of the terminal block to the cabinet just below it. If this is the case then remove the screw securing it to the cabinet and bend it back up onto the nuetral terminal, or remove it completely. Then hook the green ground wire from the cord to the cabinet of the dryer. Make sure all of your connections are tight, but be careful not to strip them. It's also important to hook up the strain relief to prevent any possible tugs on the cord from pulling on the terminal block connections.

I need a wiring diagram to wire my oven to the house power. Whirlpool electric model# rb260pxyb

You will have 3 or possibly 4 wires coming out of the oven Red and Black go to the hot leads in the junction box.Usually red & black but could be 2 black. White goes to white Bare/green go to the white if no Bare/Green available. This is for a wall oven. If the stove is free standing and you want to attach a cord. Just buy the cord that matches the outlet in your house. Make sure it is a range cord and not a dryer cord. They are very similar. If a 3 conductor cord (most common) outer two terminals are the hot ones. There is a wire or metal strap between the frame of the range and the center (neutral )terminal . On a 3 conductor cord leave this connected. On a 4 conductor cord remove this wire and connect it to the green/bare wire in the cord. There may be a vacant terminal on the block for this purpose. If not use a wire nut.
