I can establish a link to the Net wirelessly and on the LAN, but for some reason I cannot get the USB aspect working. The green light is on for the net connection and also for the USB, but the Belkin USB Printer and Storage centre says that "a compatible Belkin router with USB port was not found". What can I do?

Hi, you have to set up your printer as a device that can be communicated in your LAN by the two PCs.

To set up your printer properly in the LAN, you need to assign a fixed IP to this printer such that whenever it is switch on again, both PC still communicate to this printer without changing the new IP assigned to this printer.

You need to set up this fixed IP properly in your DLink router. For guidance please check this in your user manual of the Dlink. Please let me know any problem you may have again in future.

Hi my router is showing internet connection and the wlan is green or the green light is on. in the numbers 1-4 there is no lights on. I don't know if this is the problem or not but i have no connection...

The lights 1-4 refer to the wired LAN ports, if none of these are on then there are no LAN cable connected to these ports.
Try rebooting (power off then power on) the router first then reboot your laptop to see if the wireless connection is re-established.
If not, check the router's wireless settings ie. SSID, encryption etc., and check the wireless card settings in the laptop - these settings must be the same for the laptop to connect to the router.

The first thing to try is to check if the cable or DSL modem is working properly. Does the LEDs light up when powered up and when you connect the computer to the modem, can you get into the Internet?
If so the the wireless router and/or the wireless card or LAN card are not configures correctly. Check Device Manager in the computers to see these LAN and wireless cards are working and enabled, if not then install the drivers fo these devices.
When the computer is connected to the modem and you cannot connect to the Internet then contact your Internet company and get them to test the connection to your modem. This will determine if your modem is faulty or not.

HOW DO I CONNECT DIR165 TO PS3 I HAVE ENTERED THE LAN AND ALL THE OTHER ADDRESSES BUT IT WONT CONNECT

The D-link Router should work with its "factory" settings,
with most ISPs (Internet Service Providers), if you connect your
cable-modem or ADSL-modem to the 'WAN' or 'INTERNET' port on the router, and if you use an Ethernet cable to connect from one of the 4 'LAN' ports to the network-port on your desktop/notebook computer.

Once you have established a "wired" connection, and you can surf the Internet, follow the instructions in the manual that came with the D-Link to run the "Wireless Setup Wizard" to configure the "wireless" part of the router.

Add those "wireless" settings into your PS3.

Not able to install the software, tells me mdm.exe has stopped working and won't go any farther

Manual Setup: This option is best if you cannot use the wizard on the CD, are replacing an
existing router, or are technically knowledgeable. Follow the instructions in this manual to set
up your router.

Connecting Your Router
1. Connect the router, the computer, and the modem.
a. Turn off your computer.
b. Turn off and unplug the cable or ADSL broadband modem.
c. Locate the Ethernet cable (1) that connects your computer to the modem.
d. Disconnect the cable at the modem end only (2).
e. Securely insert the free end of the cable (1) into a LAN port on the router, such as LAN
port 4 (3).

f. Securely insert the yellow cable (5) that came with your router into the yellow Internet
port of the router (4) and the other end into the modem (2).

Setting Up Your Router for Internet Access
To access the router using its login name and password, follow these instructions.
1. Connect to the router by typing http://www.routerlogin.net in the address field of your
browser, then click Enter.

For security reasons, the router has its own user name and password. When prompted, enter
admin for the router user name and password for the router password, both in lower case
letters.

Enter the user name and password. The router will display its home page.

When the router is connected to the Internet, click the Knowledge Base or the Documentation link
under the Web Support menu to view support information or the documentation for the router.
If you do not click Logout, the router will wait 5 minutes after there is no activity before it
automatically logs you out.
Set Up and Test Basic Wireless Connectivity
Follow the instructions below to set up and test basic wireless connectivity. Once you have
established basic wireless connectivity, you can enable security settings appropriate to your needs.
1. Log in to the router at its default LAN address of http://www.routerlogin.net with its default
user name of admin and default password of password, or using whatever LAN address and
password you have set up.
2. Click the Wireless Settings link in the main menu of the router.
3. Note that the default SSID is NETGEAR.
4. Set the Region. Select the region in which the wireless interface will operate.
5. Click Apply to save your changes.
6. Configure and test your computers for wireless connectivity.
Program the wireless adapter of your computers to have the same wireless network name
(SSID) as the router. Check that they have a wireless link and are able to obtain an IP address
by DHCP from the router.
Note:

6. Configure and test your computers for wireless connectivity.
Program the wireless adapter of your computers to have the same wireless network name
(SSID) as the router. Check that they have a wireless link and are able to obtain an IP address

Lan card disabled

When u plug the ethernet CAT cable in the LAN card socket , so you see any light orange or green flashing on the LAN card itself.
If yes then right click on my computer >> properties >> Hardware >> device manager>> check in network adapters whether the LAN card is enabled or not
If NO the right click on it and enable it check whether it is able to receive any ip address

If u see no light at all
Then you might have to install a new LAN card on the system
