Press and hold the "Filter" button on the thermostat for 3 or 4 seconds. That should turn off the filter indicator. After another 500 hours of operation, the "Filter" indicator will display again reminding you to change the filter. You see, it doesn't actually sense when you change the filter, it is simply an automatic reminder for you to do so. Hope this helps!

The temperature falls 3 or 4 degrees below the set temperature before furnace kicks on

There is a Span setting on the thermostat causing that, most newer thermostats have a adjustable span from 1 to 5 degrees, if your thermostat has a option menu, scroll through the options and see if you find a option called Span if its at 3 or 4, change it to 1 or 2, then your furnace will cycle on sooner. If you have your owner manual still for it that should show you how to do it.

Rth2310b not keeping tempeature set for heat

Not maintaining the set temperature is not always a fault of the T-stat. I'm not sure about what you're saying because there could be a problem with the other parts of your unit. Remember, the T-stat is only a switch, but look at any of these anyway

Rth2310b wiring

More than likely, this is what you have:

Red- Power- (RC/RH)
White- Heat- (W)
Green- Fan- (G)
Blue- Cool- (Y)

Usually, the only times you need more than 4 wires are:

1. You have a HeatPump system.
2. Your new digital thermostat does not use batteries, which then you have to have a common wire to power the thermostat.

Installed a RTH2310B to replace an older model honeywell. All wires do not match. only 3 do r, w1, and g do and o and e do not. what should i do?

The Honeywell RTH2310B is a standard thermostat and is not compatible with a heat pump system. The terminals O and E are for a heat pump system. I am assuming that the terminals you described that do not match are from the old thermostat. What you will need to do is get a heat pump thermostat. Sometimes it can be hidden within a lot of other descriptions on the front of the box, but it will say heat pump and either 2 heat/1 cool or 2 heat/2cool. You should just need the 2 heat/1 cool heat pump thermostat. Hope this helps.
