I had exactly the same problem but was able to solve it by selecting "Reset All Settings". This is accessed via Main Menu/Printer Settings/Reset All Settings on the printer's screen.

SOURCE: Leading edge detection error
This is caused when the size paper loaded into the machine does not match the size the machine expected. Check the paper size settings to ensure you are using the correct paper setting. This also can be caused if paper loaded does not align correctly.

Try upgrading your Firmware go to to this web www.kodak.com/go/5300downloads and look for firmware and download it, make sure that the printer is connected and turn on while downloading the firmware. thanks
