Hi my tomtom go 700 will not switch on beyond the home screen, then a flashing red and white cross is permanently on the screen is this problem fixable ?

Sounds like you tried to upgrade and something went wrong.
If there is a reset button on the bottom or back that'll be your best bet. The red X means it cannot find the operating system but usually a hard reset will fix it.

How do you reformat the hard drive for hr-20/700

If you go into the DVR's Menu/Setup there will be menu selections to "Restart Receiver" and "Reset Receiver"
In the reset menu you should find three options "restart receiver" which is roughly equivalent (and possibly safer) than the reset button or a power cycle. "Reset defaults" will clear all of your preferences and personal setting without affecting recordings. "Reset Everything" pretty much returns the receiver to ground zero and deletes everything.

To perform a factory reset using the reset button do the following:

Step 1: Make sure that the DFL-200/DFL-700 is on.

Step 2: Press and hold the button located on the back of the DFL-200/DFL-700 below the word Reset using a paper clip for 10 seconds.

Step 3: Release the button.

Clearing my tom tom 700 of recent destination and phone numbers

Perform a hard reset. That should delete every last bit of info you have saved on your tomtom. To do this press and hold the power and reset buttons for about 5 seconds.

Sai.

Reset AP-700 failed

Simple solution, firstly do not press the reset button to long as it will erase all software, or you will have to do this the hard way. google the software called ScanTool run that from either ethernet or wireless, this tool shows you the AP-700's ip, mac, and name (some techs run these AP's coadjacent so it shows the name as well). You can change the ip of the AP-700 from here most of the time with the proper pass, then you should be able to connect to it regardless. if this dont help ... Proxim/Support/AP700 you will find more of an in depth approach of these things there.

Sylvania 0.7 cu. ft - 700 Microwave diaply beeps with - - on the display

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

Does it matter whether the door is open or closed?

Tomtom 700 will not fully load

On the bottom of the TomTom there is a tiny hole that you stick a small paper clip into. This is a reset button. Its almost not visable you really have to look for it. I have the same problem but I hit the reset and it fixed the problem. This reset won't change or hurt any of your settings it just resets the hard drive.

How to hard reset magellan 700

Hussam.. I believe the newest software upgrade you can get for the 700 is version 4.32 which is the same version used on the 760's. The maps are stored on the hard drive, so I do not think a reset will help but here is how it's done. 1. At the user select menu (first screen to appear after initial turn on) hold down the zoom out key (-) and the repeat button (on top of your unit). 2. Once at the "secret" menu, select reset user data. This will reset all of your personal information from the unit. All of your POI's will be deleted as well as your user name (which you can re-create of course) 3. Your unit will re-boot automatically and that's how you reset your unit. Like I said though, I do not think this will revive your maps. If you have the maps on a DVD-CD then you can reload them that way, otherwise send it to the Fort Worth, Tx repair center and they have the proper program to load data directly to the hard drive. Good luck! -Daniel

No map data no hard disk

Typically I'd change out the hard drive. Your not able to access your location on the map right? or are you able to access the map at all? In your position, if your product is OUT of warranty. Open your unit up and make sure the cable going from the main board (big one) to your hard drive are tight. Other then that, try resetting user data. At the user menu (after restarting) press "-" and repeat button at the same time. Scroll down to reset user data, then see if anything changes. I'm almost positive it's your hard drive, and you can't just go out and buy one of those. So, good luck.. if nothing else you can just send it down here to Fort Worth, Tx.
