Try using some compressed air (canned air) to remove any loose gunk (dirt/dust/food) from behind the keys. Cant say it'll help your problem, but its a common problem with keyboards and can result in "sticky keys".

Key 'U' defaults to '4'

You have selected the Number Lock which turns the RHS keyboard into a number pad.
The NumLk key also doubles up as a ScrLk key, it is located near the F12 function key. When you press this key it will turn off the Number Lock, also the NumLk LED light will switch off.

This is caused by a short in the keyboard. Either something was spilled into the keyboard, or it was hit by a hard object.
Search EBay! for a replacement keyboard. Most of the time you can find them for $35-$50 and have a professional install it for you.

To clean your laptop's keyboard you have to look under your laptop, you can see like keyboard icons with some scews, so, open them, they will let yout to remove your keyboard.
So now your can remove just your keyboard slowly for some connectors on the motherboard then clean it with a tooth brush.

You can only clean your keyboard with a toothbrush without rmoving it,

Try to remove the space bar key and clean under it.

Try to hard press the space bar for about 5 times, it can release the pusher under the key.

it some liquid was spilt on it you have to remove the keyboard and clean the plastic under ther keyboard.

How come my laptop keys are harder to press than usual? This started when I pressed the keys down very hard. I have tried pulling them out just a little bit but did'nt work.

There is not so much that could be done to repair a keyboard. Disassemble the laptop, check the ribbon cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard. If the ribbon cable is loose, tighten it. If it is tight, replace the keyboard with a new one.

The keyboard controller maybe faulty. Connect a PS2 or USB keyboard to see if it functions correctly. If the external keyboard works normally then the laptop keyboard is faulty and can be replaced.
If the external keyboards do not work normally then it is a motherboard problem.

Laptop A3 not booting up

Sounds like your hard drive is not booting and that your keyboard isn't responding to your pressing F2 and F12. If you can locate a USB external keyboard or if you have a round PS2 port for an external keyboard/mouse - plug into the laptop with that then press F12 while the computer is booting, press it a few times to be sure you get it in the buffer - then the boot manager should show up. If it does, choose to boot the Hard Drive if available - same with pressing F2 - Setup or Bios CMOS Settings should be displayed, here you can try to boot from the Hard Drive or Check to see if the hard drive is being recognized or not.

You may need a new keyboard if your laptop keyboard doesn't get you into either menu, and to either make sure your hard drive is responding and can be set to be the default boot device.
