Denon AVR588 7.1 Channels Receiver

Component Cable Box + Playstation 3 + Toshiba 37"...

posted by artificer88 on May 27, 2008

I have an old cable box with component connections. I have connected its component cables to the Denon AVR-588. The Toshiba has an HDMI connected to the receiver. I have connected the Sony Playstation 3's HDMI to the AVR-588 as well. Then I had found out about the whole audio issue and used the optical cable for audio...

Now I find myself at another issue. The receiver seems to require me to connect a set of component cables from it to the TV... despite the fact that there is already an HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV. Am I doing something stupid or is the receiver the one doing something ridiculous.
