Hi

Check for the seal on the top spray arm. You'll need to remove the spray arm to check the top spray arm. Please check the removal procedure--

Removal and Replacement

1. Pull upper rack all the way out.

2. Remove plastic screw on bottom of middle spray arm. This will allow the middle spray arm and bearing to be removed.

Note: Install middle spray arm with spray jets facing the upper rack. Place bearing between spray arm screw and bottom of the middle arm.

To remove the upper spray wash arm, remove the upper rack. Then remove the screw and upper spray wash arm. Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.

There's a bit of a rattling noise when the diswasher is running, as if something is in the pump. I've removed the strainer to see if anything is in there, but nothing. How do I remove the sprayer...

There are some GE dishwashers where the middle spray arm tube vibrates as it washes. This middle spray arm is attached to the top rack. The end of this spray arm tube where it goes into the back wall is loose. There is an after market rubber washer from GE that goes there to prevent vibration and make a tighter seal. Or you can put a tie wrap around the tube end and rack to prevent vibration.

Frigidaire dishwasher ffbd2409ls door leaks

First open the door, and pull the racks out of the unit. Place a small level in the inside of the cabinet, NOT on the door itself. Make sure the unit is level. 90% of leaks come from incorrect installation. If the unit is level per the installation instructions for your specific unit, then check the door gasket/seal. Check for any damages or gaps. Then go to check the sprayer arms. One might be loose or disconnected forcing water to shoot straight down on the door itself.

Little water to top rack

Your sprayer arms may be clogged.
The upper arm attaches to a tube in the back of the dishwasher. If the support clamps come loose, the upper spray tube will not be flush with the tube and can't carry water to the sprayer arms. Also the sprayer arms can become clogged with paper remnants, bone fragments, or pieces of peeling. You'll need to remove the sprayer arm and flush it at your sink. If there is a jet that is clogged, tweezers will help remove the residue.
I hope this helps. If it does, please come back to Fixya and rate my answer

Arms are clogged

You may have debris in the sprayer arm jets. It is usually simple to remove the sprayer arms. Then rinse them well using the sink sprayer for forceful water power. I have sometimes had to use a tweezer to remove bits of plastic, paper, bone, or food particles. Once you've remove the debris, rinse well forcing water through to dislodge any other debris. Once you've reattached the sprayer arms, you should have cleaner dishes. Also, some brands of dishwashers have a pipe that runs up the inside back wall and connects to a pipe that runs under the top shelf. Water flowing through this pipe under the top shelf propels the sprayer arms. If the connection at the back is not flush with the "propel" pipe there won't be enough water pressure to turn the sprayer arm. Check to see if your dishwasher has this type of set up.
I hope this works. If it does, please let Fixya know by rating my solution.
Good luck!

The middle arm on my dishwasher (ge Profile) is not turning...the top and bottom are working fine

Had same problem with mine. Actually bought all new middle arm assembly but as I was taking it apart to install new pieces, I noticed so much gunk in the middle swinging mechanism that I assumed that must have been the problem.. I really think the newer dishwashing tablets cause this buildup problem. Anyway, put on all new pieces and started the machine. Long story short, it worked great for about a month and then started doing the exact same thing. THE reason why the middle arm sprayer doesn't spin is that the little holes at each end (the ones that sit underneath and look like they should propel the sprayer arm ) get clogged. I bought some pipe cleaners, bent to an angle where I could come in from the top and pull out through the propellor hole and voila` the sprayer is swinging beautifully again.. I guess the only question I still have is why this started happening three to four years after I purchased the machine. Something somewheres else must not be doing its job.

We have a GE dishwasher with upper and lower sprayers. The upper sprayer (one located right under top rack) won't spray or turn which leaves the dishes in upper rack dirty, any suggestions on how to fix...

try c.l.r. to clean dishwasher check and clean lower and upper spray arms out, run no detergent you can also run vinegar in it as well about a cup full, let the machine start to run then stop dish washer for a few hours then restart see if this works for you use a short cycle.

Leaking from rear in cabinet

If your dishwasher leaks, check these:
Main tub seal Note… If the main motor of your dishwasher is mounted vertically, beneath the center bottom of the dishwasher, the following instructions probably apply to you. But if your motor is mounted horizontally, the pump isn't serviceable--you need to replace the entire pump and motor assembly.

The main tub seal is beneath the drain impeller. It prevents the water in the dishwasher from leaking out near the shaft of the motor. To get to the seal, which is inside the dishwasher, remove the:

  • Lower rack

  • Spray arm

  • Spray arm support

  • Wash/drain impellers

Then pry the seal out of its housing and replace it.

Door gasket or seal Over time, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to seal properly. You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them if they've begun to leak.

Water-inlet valve The water-inlet valve, itself, seldom leaks. But, the water-supply line from the house and the rubber tube leading from the valve to the inside of the dishwasher may leak. Tighten or repair/replace these as necessary.

The water-inlet valve could mechanically stick open. When that happens, the water continues to flow into the dishwasher, which then floods your kitchen. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher, and replace the valve.

Hoses Behind the lower access panel on your dishwasher are several rubber or plastic hoses. If the leak appears at a connection, try a new clamp. If that doesn't work, replace the hose.

GE Dishwasher Leaks

You can easily screw up the drain diverter arm trying to replace that seal. Repair is difficult. Pump assembly is rather expensive. (especially considering this was not a top of the line model) You would be much better off replacing the dishwasher. The new GE models are much quieter and have eliminated the center tower in almost all models.
