Hi, the charging connector is broken, can it be replaced easily? If so , how do i get to it? the lap top is a TJ74-RB-050UK. Cheers

the dc jack (charging connector) can usually be bought for about 5 pounds or less from ebay. As far as fitting it goes it depends how confident you are. You will need to disassembel your laptop and remove the broken jack from the motherboard and then solder the new one on.

My e-machine t-3616 makes a beeping noise when I try to power on. It will not power on unless I plug, and unplug numerous times then finally it will start up.

If you've never changed the battery in your computer, I would try that first. It is sort of like the batteries that you would see, say in a bathroom scale, and it keeps your system information such as time and date current even when your machine is unplugged. After five years, it may simply be too drained to do its job.

Don't know voltage setting for charging this unit.

You can use any adaptor that supply 12V or more. If you have at least 800ma of current, and 12V or higher it will do the job. Higher voltage rating will charged it much quicker but you have to watch it.

Power will not stay on

PSUs don't last forever, 3 / 4 years they are dead or going.
use a digital muti-metre to test the Molex connections
should be 12volts, 5volts, and 3.5 volts for motherboard conns.

or with E.S.D. kit Replace the PSU, very quick and easy job.

Bad blower (fan) in Astec RS-PSU-450-AC1N

If you cannot find a exact replacement, don't worry, use a fixed speed fan, you only want to keep things cool, you care what speed it runs at as long as it does its job, and it is easier than replacing the bearings
