Re: while installing xp in vista machine no hard disk...
YOU CAN INSTALL XP OVER A VISTA PRE-LOADED MACHINE BUT YOU NEED TO INSERT THE XP INSTALL DISK IN FIRST THEN REBOOT WITH THE CD IN THE TRAY.YOU SHOULD GET THE"PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD"MESSAGE.IF YOU KEEP GETTING YOUR PREVIOS PROBLEM WITH THE HARDDRIVE MESSAGE,YOU CAN GO TO THE BIOS SETTINGS AND CHANGE THE BOOT SEQUENCE TO CD FIRST AND THEN TRY THE INSTALL AGAIN.

you mean you need to downgrade your computer from Windows Vista to XP? if so is the case, you need to go to the BIOS in the Boot menu, select IDE from ACPI. put the boot option to boot from CD first or disable Boot from hard disk. then you will be able to downgrade your computer from Vista to XP.

The notebook is preinstalled with a SATA hard drive which needs seperate drivers to be installed inorder to get the hard drive detected. The drivers for the SATA can be installed only by using a floppy drive. As the notebook does not have a floppy drive installed, we can either try disabling the SATA native support in BIOS or install the drivers with the help of a USB floppy drive.
Here is the link for SATA driver:
Check the following document to install SATA dirver without using the floppy drive:
