The controler electronics are probably failing, or the motors are starting to pull too much current. Get in contact with Bionaire to find out who their local service is in your area for parts and repairs.

Why are the fans not coming on in my 1999 deville

99 Deville - have you checked the large fan fuse(s) under and behind the main fuse/relay box ?? (I think this holds for 99 - 2000+ moved the maxi-fuses to the underhood box on the passenger side.)

Also, are your relays on a mount down near the fans ? Some have had trouble with the wiring/sockets there. 2000 or later moved the relays up to the fuse box itself. There are 3 - Fan 1, Fan 2, and a series/parallel (S/P) relay for slow and fast speeds.

Fans run in SLOW at 224 degrees F, FAST at 236 degrees F if there is no air conditioning or DEFROST function set. In the city or heavy traffic the gauge will go to the first tick mark past 12:00 and the fans come on. As the coolant lowers to 213 degrees F the fans turn off and the cycle repeats.

IF you set an air conditioning function, then fans run in SLOW all the time.

If your fans will not run under any conditions, check the large fuses in the underhood fuse/relay box, as well as the small fuses for the fan relays - there are 3 relays: Fan 1, Fan 2, and S/P (series/parallel): the fans are relay set to series operation (voltage drop) for Slow speed, parallel operation (full voltage) for Fast.

I have 3 hunter fans. Is there a way to adjust the speeds for the settings. My Lowest speed is too slow and the middle to fast. I'd like to modify but don't know how.

Unfortunately, the only way to slow or speed up the fans to what you want, is a wall mounted rheostat for electric motors. A regular lighting rheostat will not work in this type of application.

Hope this helped and thanks for choosing FixYa.

The blower in my 2002 Malibu isn't working right. It will work at first and then slows down until it eventually turns off. If I turn it off for a while and then turn it back on, it will work and then run...

It could be caused by the fan bearings failing (normally sleeve types that get gummy), switch failing (does speed setting make any difference?) or finally connector problems caused by corrosion.
If the speed selection resistor was failing, it would affect lower speeds but not the highest speed since it is then bypassed.
Operating the switch that selects fan speed rather roughly could clean the contacts in the switch and help cure the problem if the switch is at fault.
If the fan motor slows down regardless of speed setting, it is likely the motor (bearings) at fault which would likely require replacement of the fan. Access to the fan may be a real pain-in-the-. . . well, you know.

A/c fan only works on the highest setting...not the lower ones

A/C fans only really have (2) speeds. (0)Off... and (4)On. Settings 1,2,and 3 are governed by a series of two resistors which in combinations (one, the other...then both) can limit the speed of the fan. When the circuit with these resistors goes bad, the middle speeds of your fan will cease to work. Since the highest setting is unresisted it will never stop working... unless your fan fails.
The solution is economical as these are simple inexpensive parts. For simplicity, the panel with the resistors is typically located in the dash, right behind the speed selector knob. It may be an integral component with the knob assembly depending on your manufacturer. Replace the assembly, or simply the resistors if you are lucky. On the bright note, it doesn't sound like you need to mess with your blower moter... its fine.

Cheers, unclouded.

Loud Humming Noise from Computer after installing new RAM accompanied by Monitor not turning on. What is wrong?

The ram is not the right speed for your computer. please pull it out and make sure it is the same kind you changed it out with. The reason for all the sound is this... When you first start the computer, the fan will be really fast. As it goes into BIOS the fan slows down. So the noise stops. I know this for a fact though. I have gone through this with my computer. Also make sure the RAM is locked in it's ports and the white things are locked at the ends of the RAM. This will solve your problem. Good Luck.

Trying to replace 3 speed ceiling fan switch

Hello,

The black goes to the L connection the others are a guess. You can do this two ways. Connect the colored wires in any sequence and then see what switch sequence give you high and lowest, the other one will be medium. Once you determine that, mark the wires with a piece of masking tape as high, medium and low. Otherwise you connect them, turn power on and use a multimeter to see which color gives you the highest voltage and which gives you lowest. Since you aren't comfortable using live wires and a meter, go with the first option and use the process of elimination to find the wires giving you the speeds you need to find the highest and lowest. Next, you need to determine how your switch sequence works. First pull has to give you highest speed. so you may end up wiring them in reverse if your first attempt is backwards. There is a reason the first pull needs to be highest, it powers up the motor so you can then chose a lower setting. A low setting first will over tax your motor and wear it out eventually as it has to work harder at first.

Let me know if you need further clarification and perhaps this is all you need to get fixed.

Regards,
Worldvet
ps I checked on the Internet of a wiring diagram and I bet you did tok all to no avail.
