It's turning off by self after 1 minute

The Apple iPod may experience technical problems such as turning off and on at random. It is important to note what the iPod does after it turns back on. The main cause of your iPod malfunctioning may be determined by the device's behavior after being powered on.

One simple reason may be that the iPod is not fully charged. Try to see if the battery light is fully charged when it turns back on. The device may turn off briefly to conserve power and turn back on since it is not properly turned off. How to enable a disable ipod touch

In order to enable your disabled iPod Touch, you'll have to completely reset it. Turn off the iPod Touch and when it turns back on the first thing to appear will be an Apple logo. Connect the iPod Touch to the computer it is paired with when this logo appears. Once it appears in iTunes, choose the "Restore" option and that will update the software and restore the iPod Touch.

When i turn on my apple 3rd gen 20gb ipod it comes up with the apple sign and after a few seconds it comes up with and ipod with a sad face and www.apple.com/support/ipod underneath. What do i do??

The first thing is to connect your iPod to the computer it is paired with. When iTunes recognizes it, click the button returning it to factory settings. This will delete all data from your iPod, but should repair any software problems.
If iTunes is having a problem recognizing the iPod, than place it into Disk Mode: (From http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/earlier/)
  1. Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged.
  2. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  3. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears
  5. Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect"

If you are having difficulty putting the iPod model into disk mode, set it on a flat surface. Make sure that the finger pressing the Select button is not touching the Click Wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Play/Pause button toward the outside of the Click Wheel and not near the center.

If you are still unable to put your iPod with a Click Wheel into Disk Mode, use one finger from one hand to press the Select button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Play/Pause button.

I pod touch is froze up and screeen says ipod is disabled

Reset the thing by pressing down the button at the bottom of the screen and pressing on the top power button at the same time until the Apple logo appears. Also, try re-charging the iPod fully and then try the reset. Nothing? Try opening up itunes, plug the ipod in to the USB port and your ipod and then press on the bottom button and top power button until the Apple logo appears. Still nothing? Well your fu.k.d and should go to Apple and have them replace the unit under warranty.

I forget my password for my Itouch

The only thing you can do is restore the device. The ipod will need to be connected to your PC during the procedure with itunes running. With the ipod connected, hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time, until the Apple logo appears. Continue holding the Home button, but release the Sleep/Wake button. iTunes will prompt you with a warning telling you the ipod is in recovery mode and must be resored prior to use. You can release the Home button once the prompt appears. Good luck!

My ipod nano is freezing up and as a result my computer wont reconize it, wont play any music , and wont turn off.

Reset the thing by holding the center button and menu button at the same time until the apple logo appears.  Then re-sync with computer and look for ipod firmware updates.  If that don't work, then your ipod is fu.k.d up in which you should take it back to the Apple store and get the thing exchanged if your under your year warranty.

Ipod touch speakers wont work

You may need to reset
To reset the iPhone or iPod Touch, press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously at the same time for at least ten seconds, then the LCD display will clear and the Apple logo appears on the black background. When Apple logo appears, reset is done.

Turning on

If your iPod does not turn on or it appears to be frozen... you may need to reset it...
  • Toggle the 'Hold' switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  • Press and hold the 'Menu' and 'Center (Select)' buttons for about 6-10 seconds until the Apple logo appears. This step may need to be repeated.
Note: When you reset your iPod all your songs and files are saved. Some of your customized settings may be lost though.
More Tips If Your iPod Does Not Turn On Make sure that your iPod isn't on 'Hold'... Check the 'Hold' switch and make sure that it isn't set to the 'Hold' position... if you see any colour, your 'Hold' switch is engaged.
You might also try toggling the switch to the 'Hold' position, switch it back off, and then try turning it on.

Make sure that your battery is charged... Your iPod won't turn on if the battery is depleted. Instead, a low battery screen may appear for about 3 seconds when you try to turn it on.
To charge it, connect it to a high-powered USB 2.0 or FireWire port on your computer, or to an Apple iPod Power Adapter that's connected to an electrical outlet, using the cable that came with it.

If your iPod still won't turn on, reset it...Press Menu and Select buttons for six seconds until the Apple logo appears.
When you reset your iPod, all of your songs and files are preserved, however, you may need to reset some customized settings.
Let your iPod battery drain... In rare cases, your iPod might get into a state in which the battery needs to be drained completely before you can reset it.
