Question about HP Pavilion a800n (PP163AA) PC Desktop

2 Answers

Last night my computer was just fine. Today i attempted to turn on the computer and the lcd screen(monitor) said "no imput signal" Seconds later, the monitor went into sleep mode. I took the computer and monitor into best buy. They conected the vga cable and the monitor began to function properly. They thought that i did not have the vga cable screwed tight enough. I went back home and encountered the same freak'n problem as before. What am i doing wrong? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

No, they used my VGA cable, my monitor and my tower! That is why this situation is so frustrating to me. It is not rocket science but there must be something going on. I going to try another surge protector or something because this is ridiculous.

Is the monitor being plugged into onboard video or through a video card. If it's through a video card just make sure that there isn't any loose connections inside the computer between the card and the motherboard.

I need help in my computer, last night my computer's screen color is normal but today i start my computer so its screen color has been changed in green .. so tell me how it has chaged and now wat do to do?...

This can happen dur to the following reasons
1. Monitor cable that is connected to the tower may be loose, disconnect it and reseat it properly.
2. Monitor cable is damaged, please check if the cable is pressed against some thing and damaged, if so you can detach the monitor cable and buy a new cable.
3. Monitor is faulty, the color functionality electronics is bad, this can be rectified by a monitor service personnel.
4. Display card is faulty (onboard or add on), to check if this is not the scenario - Disconnect the monitor from the tower and turn of the monitor and the switch it on you should be seeing colored bars, if the colours are looking good then the monitor is fine and the display card is faulty.

Please check the above steps one by one and reply to this post in case you are unable to narrow down the cause. Thank you for contacting Fixya.

Flat screen monitor functioning strangely

Sounds like there maybe bad caps on the power board in the LCD. Try a different monitor on your computer and if the known working monitor comes on with the computer and behaves properly then you know its a problem with your original monitor. If the known working monitor acts strange as well then you know its a problem with the video card. Let me know what happens.

Yellow power light on HP SR1420NX

For reasons yet to be determined, your computer is not talking to your monitor.

This could be the monitor cable came loose from the tower (this is our favorite, because it is such an easy repair), or something on the motherboard (that is, anything) that is not functioning and preventing your computer from starting.

Unplug the connecting cable, and plug it back in again, making sure that it is seated properly.

Do you hear any sounds besides the fans? You should be able to hear the faint clicking of a hard drive starting up also. If you hear this, the problem is not in the computer, but in the communication to the monitor.

Good luck
tony

E-machine was working fine last night got up and it turns on but the monitor says check cable or power but all is ok.Computer wont display anything, can anyone help?

Do a reset: Turn the computer and monitor off. Unplug the monitor video cable from the computer and unplug the monitor power cord from the wall outlet. Let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes. Plug everything back in, turn on the monitor, then start the computer. Sometimes that will work.
If you still have the same problem, try to borrow a known to be good monitor from somebody. If it works, then you know your monitor is bad.
It's also possible that your video circuitry is bad. If the monitor plugs straight into the motherboard (onboard video), then you'll need to purchase a video card and install it. Disable the onboard video first.

Won't turn on

Seems that your CPU-Cabinet is not giving the video output for your monitor. Please check the powercord and other internal assembly (if possible) that runs in and around the cabinet and restart the machine.

Desktop monitor

Hi

Disconnect the monitor from the tower and then turn on the monitor.
If u get a msg like no input signal or check video cable then the monitor is fine. If this is the case, it could be a problem with the tower or the cable.
