I am assuming that you have removed the end bell with field winding and the only obstacle is the rotor on the crank of the engine. I am also assuming that you were able to remove the long bolt thru rotor into crank. Now you will need to apply penetrating oil to the shaft of the engine to loosen the rust on the taper (tapered shaft fits very tightly into core of rotor). It may take several applications. Place a piece of hardwood against metal to protect the rotor and firmly rap with hammer on both sides. You may need to use pry bar against engine and rotor as you hammer hardwood. Repeat as necessary, some rotors will be very stuck due to rust. Good luck.

How to remove distributor on 1994 nissan pathfinder


Hi there:
Check this removal procedure (See Figures 1 through 5)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Unfasten the retaining clips (only remove the coil wire if necessary) and lift the distributor cap straight off. It will be easier to install the distributor if the spark plug wiring is left connected to the cap. If the plug wires must be removed from the cap, mark their positions to aid in installation.
  3. Remove the dust cover and mark the position of the rotor relative to the distributor body; then mark the position of the distributor body relative to the engine block.
  4. Detach the harness assembly connector.
  5. Remove the pinch-bolt and lift the distributor straight out, away from the engine. The rotor and body are marked so that they can be returned to the position from which they were removed. Do not turn or disturb the engine (unless absolutely necessary) after the distributor assembly has been removed.

INSTALLATIONTiming Not Disturbed

  1. Insert the distributor in the block and align ALL matchmarks made during removal.
  2. Engage the distributor driven gear with the distributor drive.
  3. Install the distributor clamp and secure it with the pinch-bolt.
  4. Install the distributor cap and fasten the harness electrical connector.
  5. If necessary, install the spark plug wires and coil wire.
  6. Start the engine. Check the timing and adjust it if necessary.

Timing Disturbed
  1. It is necessary to place the No. 1 cylinder in the firing position to correctly install the distributor. To locate this position, the ignition timing marks on the crankshaft front pulley can be used.
  2. Remove the No. 1 cylinder spark plug. Turn the crankshaft until the piston in the No. 1 cylinder is moving up on the compression stroke. This can be determined by placing your thumb over the spark plug hole and feeling the air being forced out of the cylinder. Stop turning the crankshaft when the timing marks indicate TDC or 0 .
  3. Oil the distributor housing lightly where the distributor bears on the cylinder block.
  4. Install the distributor so that the rotor, which is mounted on the shaft, points toward the No. 1 spark plug terminal tower position when the cap is installed. Of course, you won't be able to see the direction in which the rotor is pointing if the cap is installed, so lay the cap on the top of the distributor and make a mark on the side of the distributor housing just below the No. 1 spark plug terminal. Make sure that the rotor points toward that mark when you install the distributor.

On the VG30i and VG30E engines, align the mark on the distributor shaft with the protruding mark on the housing.

  1. When the distributor shaft has reached the bottom of the hole, gently move the rotor back and forth slightly until the driving lug on the end of the shaft enter the slots cut in the end of the oil pump shaft and the distributor assembly slides down into place.

On the VG30i and VG30E engines, the distributor rotor tip should be in the 11 o'clock position.

  1. Fasten the distributor hold-down bolt.
  2. Install the spark plug into the No. 1 spark plug hole.
  3. Install the distributor cap and engage the harness electrical connector.
  4. If necessary, attach the spark plug wires and coil wire.
  5. Start the engine. Check the timing and adjust it if necessary.

2000 chevy 3500 . the hub assembly is rusted onto the rotor. Does anyone know where i can get an assembly diagram?


Get 2 of M10x1.5 bolts from auto supply and thread them into holes in rotors, across from each other and use them as jack bolts. Tighten them in evenly to release rotor from hub. Those holes should be threaded, and as you turn them in they come up against hub, and pull rotor outward at same time.

Need diagram to change stator on 99electra glide classic


I don't know of anywhere that you can get a diagram on how to change the stator in your ElectraGlide other than a factory service manual. But, all is not lost as it's really not that difficult if you have a few tools. An air wrench or you can trailer it to a tire store and give the guy a couple of dollars to take the compensator nut off, a primary locking bar or something to lock the primary from turning while you tightent the nuts, and a torque wrench capable of 150 foot pounds right hand and 60-80 left handed.

First drain the oil from the primary and disconnect the battery. Remove the left foot board. Remove the outer primary cover. Now remove the large compensator sprocket nut from the engine shaft. Take out the snap ring on the middle of the clutch assembly and remove the plate with the two ears on it. Remove the nut inside the clutch assembly. This nut has the LEFT HANDED THREADS on it. Don't forget. Remove the nut that holds the primary chain adjuster on. Now grab the compensator sprocket and the clutch assembly and lift the chain, sprocket, adjuster and clutch assembly out of the primary and lay on sheet of cardboard or something.

Go back to the engine sprocket and remove the sprocket shaft extension. Notice, there are some shims behind the sprocket shaft extension between it and the alternator rotor, do not lose them or mix them up with a shim that is going to come off later. Now, take two long quarter or five sixteenths bolts and stick them in the two holes on the rotor, not deep just about a quarter inch will do. Squeeze them together and pull the rotor off. Behind the rotor is a shim. It should be 0.090" thick, mark or remember that this shim goes there.

Now, you're down to the stator. There are four small screws that take a Torx wrench to remove and a plastic retainer with two small sheet metal screws holding the rotor and rotor plug in. Remove all these. and work the plug out of the case. Sometimes it's easier to simply cut the wires and push the plug out of the case from the inside.

Now, clean the hole for the plug and place the new stator ring on the engine sprocket shaft, plug wires coming off of the rear of the stator. I usually coat the plug with black RTV sealant to prevent leaks and work the plug into the hole from the inside of the case. Once you get it where it should be, put the small retainer back on using the two small sheet metal screws. Position the stator and install the new screws that came with it. If none came with it, put a drop or two of Locktite 242 blue on each screws and tighten them to 30-40 INCH pounds.

Put the 0.090" shim on, the rotor and the sprocket shaft extension with the other shims behind it on the engine shaft. Pick up the primary drive stuff with the engine sprocket in your right hand and the clutch assembly in your left. Hang the cluch assembly or the sprocket on the approtiate shaft and work the primary chain adjuster on the bolt that it goes on. Slide the sprocket and the clutch assembly to their seats on their respective shafts.

Now you will need a "locking bar" to go between the two sprockets, locking into the teeth of the engine sprocket and the clutch sprocket so that they cannot turn as you tighten everything up. Complete the assembly of the compensator sprocket and put two LINES of Locktite 271 red in the nut. Tighten the nut to 150-165 FOOT pounds of torque. On the mainshaft nut inside the clutch assembly, put one line of Loctite 271 red in the nut and tighten it to 60-80 FOOT pounds of torque LEFT-HANDED THREADS. Replace the two eared plate in the center of the clutch assembly and the snap ring. Replace the primary cover and refill the primary with lubricant. Fill just to the bottom of the spring in the clutch assembly. Do not overfill. Your clutch will drag making it impossible to find neutral with the engine running.

How do I remove the clutch rotor assembly on a ryobi 720r?


I have the same model, I inserted a large screwdriver on the inside to stop the rotor assembly from spinning, then I used a pipe wrench (but channel lock pliers would probably work better) and then w/o much effort, I easily turned the wrench counter clockwise to loosen.

Remove front rotor ?


As I was saying, remove tire, remove brake caliper, and pull the hub by removing the large nut from the axel with rotor attached.
Look on the back of the hub assembly and you will find bolts that hold the rotor on, remove them and take off rotor.
Please let me know how it goes.

Need to know how to install a new distributor and the firing order for a 4 cyl


Firing order is 1342. #1 cylinder is closest to front. (By pulleys)

Engine Not Rotated
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Turn the engine over until No. 1 cylinder is at TDC of the compression stroke.
  3. Remove the distributor cap. Remove the wire harness connected to the side of the distributor.
  4. Mark the position of the distributor base in relation to the engine block with white paint or other suitable marking material, for reference when reinstalling the distributor.
  5. Loosen and remove the distributor hold-down bolt and clamp.
  6. Carefully begin lifting the distributor up and out. Once the shaft is clear of the engine compartment, inspect the shaft for cracks in the O-seal, the condition of the shaft drive gear and any other part which could lead to distributor problems in the future.

To install:
  1. Check to make sure the engine is still at TDC. Inspect distributor shaft hole to make sure it is free of dirt.
  2. Rotate distributor shaft until the painted mark on rotor is pointing toward painted mark on engine block made during removal.
  3. Continue rotating rotor slightly so leading edge of the vane is centered in vane the switch stator assembly.
  4. Dip entire distributor gear in engine assembly lubricant D9AZ-19579-D or equivalent.

If installing a new distributor, ALWAYS add engine assembly lubricant to the engine oil by pouring it through distributor hole onto the camshaft gear. Run engine at idle for at least five minutes before driving.
  1. Rotate distributor in block to align leading edge of vane and vane switch stator assembly. Verify rotor is pointing at No. 1 mark on distributor base.

If vane and vane switch stator cannot be aligned by rotating distributor in cylinder block, remove distributor enough to just disengage distributor gear from camshaft gear. Rotate rotor enough to engage distributor gear on another tooth of the camshaft gear.
  1. Install the distributor retaining bolt and tighten so the distributor can just barely be moved.
  2. Install the distributor cap and, tighten screws to 18-23 inch lbs. (2.0-2.6 Nm).
  3. Reconnect battery cable. Start vehicle, and check timing. If timing needs adjustment, refer to the Ignition Timing section.
  4. After timing has been set, tighten distributor hold-down bolt to 17-2 ft. lbs. (23-34 Nm).

Engine Rotated with Distributor Removed
  1. If the crankshaft was rotated while the distributor was removed, the engine must be brought to TDC on the compression stroke of the No. 1 cylinder.
  2. Remove the No. 1 spark plug. Place a finger over the hole and rotate the crankshaft slowly in the direction of normal rotation until engine compression is felt.
  3. When engine compression is felt at the spark plug hole, indicating that the piston is approaching TDC, continue to turn the crankshaft until the timing mark on the pulley is aligned with the 0 mark on the engine front cover.
  4. Turn the distributor shaft until the ignition rotor is at the No. 1 firing position.
  5. Rotate distributor shaft so the blade on rotor is pointing toward paint mark on distributor base made during removal.
  6. Continue rotating rotor slightly so leading edge of the vane is centered in vane switch stator assembly. Verify rotor is pointing at No. 1 mark on distributor base.

If vane and vane switch stator cannot be aligned by rotating distributor in cylinder block, remove distributor enough to just disengage distributor gear from camshaft gear. Rotate rotor enough to engage distributor gear on another tooth of the camshaft gear.
  1. Install the distributor retaining bolt and tighten so the distributor can just barely be moved.

93 honda accord rotors


Your Accord has what is called "Trapped Rotors". They actually fit behind the hub. The procedure to remove them is not complicated, but it is time consuming.
Here is how I do it:
1) Remove axle retaining nut.
2) Remove brake caliper and bracket.
3) Remove lower ball joint retaining nut and use pickle fork to loosen spindle from lower ball joint.
4) Remove axle from hub.
5) On the back of the spindle, remove four bolts that attach hub/bearing to spindle.
6) Use slide hammer to remove rotor/hub assembly.
7) Remove 4 bolts attaching rotor to hub.
8) While it is a snug fit, the hub bearing does slide through center of rotor to remove it.
Installation is in reverse order.
A bad bearing usually makes a growling noise while driving.

The part number you came up with is for the out of balance sensor not the hal sensor. The correct part (if your model number is WM1814CW is 6501KW2001A. It's located behind the rotor on the back side of the stator.
