Go to control panel, then Network and Internet connections
then network connections
double click local area connection
go to the support tab
put the default gateway code into your browser address bar.
if it requires a code, the name is admin and the password is password.
youll get to a web page, go to wireless settings.
type in the name of your router in the first box (ssip or something)
if its already in there then im not sure what to do. just adjust the setttings in this area and it should work.

Hello!

-- who is your internet service provider
-- what is the operating system of your computer?
-- is this working fine before or is this a brand new router

you may try this and see if this help solve your problem. make sure your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router

note:

configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work

if you are still having trouble configuring your device, try to call supportrix and use supportcall as your promo code for 1 free technical support.

I have no internet to my main computer i rerouted the cable from the router to my lap top then I have enternet but not on my main computer

First, make sure you have the internet cables on your main computer pressed in tightly (to computer and router).

Then carefully follow...
1) Unplug power cord or turn off the "cable modem" (first box that comes into your house provided by the cable company).

2) turn off your router (or unplug).

3) turn off your main computer

4) turn on (or plug in the power cord) for "cable modem" and allow it to run its startup route (1 minute minimum)

5) turn on (or plug in the power cord) for router and allow it to run its start up routine (1 minute minimum)

6) turn on your computer and let it start up and check if internet works.

good luck and rate me please.

I have recently moved from Pittsburgh, PA to Charleston, SC. My linksys Wireless G 2.4 gHz router worked great with the ISP in Pittsburg (Comcast). Now, with Time Warner's Road Runner, I get an error and I...

Connect your main cmoputer directly to the time warner modem. make sure that your computer will be able to go on line when connected directly to the modem. If not then call Time warner.
If your computer is able to go on line when connected to the modem then your modem is working properly. You will need to change the settings of the router.
First reset the router for 30 seconds. On the router you will find a small reset button. Hold it down for 30 seconds. release it. wait for 1 minute. now unplug the power to the router and plug it back in. wait for 30 seconds till the power light on the router will be solid.
Now connect the modem and the computer to the router.
Now you will need to clone the MAC address of your main computer to the router. you will neeed to open the set up page of the router.
once your main computer is online , you can change the wireless settings of the router and connect to the wireless network on the laptop.

Are you trying to set up the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online
through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the
modem
Then you need to connect the computer to the
router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the
settings of the router according to the ISP.

You will need to check the settings of the router. You are able to go online when you connect the computer directly to the modem. Your internet service provider is DSL. You can try to reconfigure the router. Press the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. release it. unplug the power to the router. plug it back in. wait for 1 minute and try to reconfigure the router. Hi there, you don't need to install from the disk. Make sure your modem connects to your router and then the computer's LAN port is connected to the LAN port of the router. Open internet explorer and in the address line type 192.168.1.1 this will connect you to the router's setup. On older Linksys routers the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin." You then can find the wireless setup to configure your router. Make sure if you use a WEP code you use the same code from your computer's wireless adaptor. Good Luck...

My Belin Router won't connect to my desk top computer when I turn my computer on. I have to unplug my Belkin Router and wait awhile and then plub it in again. Sometimes I have to unplug the route 3-5 times...

You can simply update the firmware of the router if it keeps dropping your internet connection. Download the latest firmware from Belkin website and install it. Now the trick is you need to hard reset the router before and after you update the firmware. To hard reset it, press and hold the reset button at the back of the router for 30 seconds. After that unplug the power. Wait for another 30 seconds before you plug it back in.

Try to access the setup page of your router and look for MTU settings. Set it to manual settings and set the size to 1492 then save. You must power cycle the router and the modem. Unplug the power on both for 30 seconds
