Television won't turn on at all

I have a Samsung HLR5656W DLP HDTV it just won't turn, I checked the fuse and it's good. Nothing looks burnt or loose, any ideas will be greatly appreciated. My Samsung LN-S4041D won't turn on. It makes a beeping sound, like it wants to come on, and there is the red light that keeps blinking like it is trying to come on. The TV is only about 2 yrs old. What could it be? We have un-plugged it for a few hours and tried to reset it

Yes, I have the same problem. I purshased my Samsung LN-S4051D only 1.5 years ago. It won't turn on, it makes a bleeping sound and the red light keeps blinking like is going to turn on. I un-plugged it for few hours then plugged back and checked all the connections, but still not working. I kept it un-plugged as the bleeping sound does not stop.

I have the Samsung LN-S4041D too and same problem. I've seen three answers so far, replace power supply, main board or this capacitor problem. I guess I'll get an estimate to see if I can back one of them up to decide what to do. I've had mine since Jan of '07 so I'm just 5 months past the warranty. Lovely. I won't buy that Samsung phone now.

Same exact issue, it acts like it will start but doesn't sometimes after trying to power on for the 3rd time it might kick on, today it took 20 minutes to turn on the tv. Have had it for about 1.5 years

I have the same problem the tv clicks and the red light comes on repeatedly but it will not power on. I talked to a couple of repair shops and they seem to believe it's either the mother board, $400.00 repair or an IT board, $300.00 repair. Tv is LN-S4051D 40" two yrs old. Samsung should recall the tv as it seems there is a faulty part. Why should I pay over 2,000 for a tv and two yrs later have to fix it. My 20yr old tube tv still works. Samsung you should be ashamed and you just lost another customer.

If you can look on the boards at capacitors ( do a Google of "blown capacitors" ) and then you will be able to see if there are any blown one's on the boards inside, if so some soldering will be needed to replacce the blown one if you can then the issue should go away. if you can not do this a service center can help complete the repair.

Coby HDTV Model TFTV 3227 Won't turn on

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.5_14_2012_1_18_09_pm.jpg

hi if you have at least a basic knowledge in repairing in any electronics as my recommendations, since the problem is won't power on.first you need to open the back cover with the use of philip screw driver then start to check the power supply look for the blown fuse replaced with the same amper rated at the part. then check for any burnt or bulged capacitors. also considered the inverter ballast board if their is no burnt connectors or parts. good luck hope it will help you.

Samsung 1080i 50" dlp turn

The problem might be from the lamp. also, there might be a burnt capacitor on either the power panel or the main panel.

First you need to check the lamp by unplugging the television for about 3 hours then unscrewing it open then assessing the lamp to see if it is burnt, if it is burnt, then you need to replace it with a new one, but if it does not look burnt, then you need to understand that there is a burnt capacitor on either the main panel or the power panel.

To check and replace a bad capacitor, all you have to do is to take a close look at the capacitors on the main panel and power panel, if you see anyone looking swollen, burnt or pressed, then it means it is bad and to replace it, you will have to turn the board to the other side and melt off the tips using a soldering iron, then fixing in a new one and resoldering it back on the panel.

After doing that, your television should be in good condition once again.

Take care and good luck

I have a samsung 52" HDTV LCD, and whenever I

There seem to be a problem inside the unit that is why it keeps going off and on.

This problem can be caused either by power or by the lamp.

If the lamp of the television is faulty, then the lamp will be causing the television to trip off and on continuously.

The solution to that is for you to unplug the television, leave it for about 2 hours so the high voltage will dissipate, then you unscrew it open form the back, take off the back cover and assess the lamp of the television, once you find the lamp looking burnt, then you need to replace it, by carefully applying a little force then pulling it out and fixing a new one in.

If it is the power, all you need to do is to assess the main board and the power panel for any bad capacitor, if it looks compressed, swollen or burnt, then it needs to be replaced.

Also on the board, try to look for any part where lead melts off and causing a bridge of two capacitors on the board and correct it usind a soldering iron.

Take care and good luck

I hope this is helpful.

Fuse and power supply look ok to the eye slight static sound on audio tiny flash intermitent inright corner on video, any clues? power diods check good ,nothing looks hot or burnt There is a second board...

Your power supply on the dc output should have the floowing DC voltages, 5v, 12v, and 24v. Just start probing the connectors of the power supply. 24v is needed for the backlights inverter board, 12v for sounds, 5v for logic board.
