Question about Vibe CBR10 Car Subwoofer

Open Question

I have a vibe cbr 12 1400watt enclosed ive had it for years, since it first came out, its never put a foot wrong! Until when i turned on my ignition 2day. The battery was abit flat, it only just started the car. I reved the car abit turned on my sterio and it sounded like the sub wasnt working. I turned it up to full bass mode and you can only just hear the bass slighty, not even 1/50 of what it shud b. Ive checked the back all wires are connected! The sub light on the back is on! The sub is vibrating but not to the extent it should do, no where near, theres defently power and a beat going to the sub, RCA leads are fine! Ive also checked the volume switchs on the back of the sub and there both nearly on full and ive connected a battery charger to the battery so theres definatley enough power going to the sub, its just not delivering that power. Please can you tell me what is causing this to not work properly? . Is it possible something inside the encloser needs replacing, maybe something to do with the built in amp????

Might not be eathed properly. Check the earth on the battery as well. Theres more juice goin through there now so it might need a bigger earth or ground.

SOURCE: how do i wire a fusion 12'' active encloser up to my car?

OK. (1) The RCA's plug into your audio-In on your amp and the other end of your RCA's plugs into the back of your cd player's audio-out. (2) The small blue wire is the "Remote wire" the one end is wired together with a blue wire in back of cd player other end to amp..To attach wire "remove some of the rubber insulator on wire about a 1/2 inch then twist wires together and put electrical tape to cover or wire nut if you have one." (3) "Ground wire" this is the black wire one side to "amp - neg" and the other end to frame of vehicle. " find a bolt in trunk and put the end of the wire around that and tighten bolt" but before putting bolt on take sand paper to the metal frame where the bolt hole is and sand all the paint off! (4) Last Power wire the "red wire". Cut about 12 inches off power wire plug one end to "amp + pos" the other end to the fuse...Now with the rest of the Power wire plug the one end to the otherside of fuse and run that threw car either driverside door or underneath the dash to the "+ pos red" side of battery.
Then your done! Good luck! and wire in that order and you want blow anything! Give me a thumbs up if you like!

Try some WD -40 in the key hole. Spray a good bit in to remove any metal deposits.

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
2. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
3. Faulty main circuit breaker and or connections.
4. Faulty ignition coil and or connections.
5. Faulty spark plug, oil or gas fouled, wrong heat range or service type, wrong gap, loose in the cylinder head, broken electrode or insulator.
6. Faulty spark plug cables, leaking or broken, internal damage check for spark leakage in the dark.
7. Faulty ignition module, switch, CKP, MAP, CMP, sensor and or any connector in the ignition circuit could have corroded, loose, or broken pins/sockets
8. Burnt exhaust valve or air leak in the exhaust system.

6. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
7. Discharged battery, loose, corroded or broken battery terminal connections especially the "NEGATIVE" cable inside the harness at both ends.
8. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil, battery or plug between ignition sensor and module.
9. Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
10. Ignition timing incorrect due to faulty ignition coil, ignition module or sensors (MAP, CMP CKP and/or BAS).
