In moving to a new apartment I flattened the neck of the circular stand with the monitor LG flatiron slim 19" into the box. Went very easily. Now when I put up my computer the stand of the monitor doesn't come out all the way. There is a small black knob that on the side of the neck of the stand, but that doesn't move. How to lengthen and bring up the stand without doing damage?

On my HP monitor on the stand, I have a locking mechanism that doesn't allow the display to be raised. I need to press a button on the stand while pushing down the display, then the button is possible to be pressed down. then while holding it down, I can pull the display upwards as much as it comes.

the stand locks in my case when pushed all the way in.

Maybe this is the same thing on yours? Maybe not?

Monitor automatically clicks into power saving mode
Laptops often have a function key which switches from laptop only, external monitor only, laptop & external. One of the top number keys, along with the function (fn for short) must be pressed simultaneously to step through these.

Where these keys are at, may differ from laptop to laptop.

How can I tell if a "LG ultra slim innovation" monitor is digital or analogue? Currently can't connect bc I need to purchase a splitter and adaptor for my digital PC
If it uses a VGA cable to connect to the PC, it's an analog. If it uses a DVI, it can be an analog or digital or both. If it uses an HDMI cable, it is digital (video and audio combined).

My LG flatiron W1943TB turns on, says analog power saving mode, goes black and then the power button flashes.. but the monitor is hooked up to my dell notebook bc my LCD died
Hi erin mckinle,
That is probably it's, uh, analog power saving mode. When the screen goes black and the power button flashes, make some mouse gestures or hit some keys that would not affect anything (try spacebar). That should bring up the screen. If you think it goes into power saving mode too fast, go to Control Panel --> Power Options, and change the values. Hope this helps.

LG Flatiron monitors.1st one on Dell pc works great. 2nd one in same household to Compaq pc still flashes faint pink on parts that should be white.
Probably just some color balance is of. Reset white to something different on the compaq. Try downloading nvidia-settings and see what happens when you mess with color balances. Mess around with some settings til it looks right, or see if you can reset the white balance to a different preset on the monitor's menu

Disassemble anlg lcd 19''
The following link will show you the 'pdf file' for the assembly of your monitor.
You should be able to reverse this procedure in order to disassemble it in order to put it back into the box.

You need to get a set of powered computer speakers!

I always found that stand alone speakers are much better than the ones in the monitor.

Oval to Round
Try changing to a different video resolution setting. Most monitors work well with the resolution set to 1024 X 768. I'm not sure what operating system you're using, but here's an example of how to do it with Windows XP...

Right-click on your desktop...then click Properties -- Settings --
You can try different resolution settings in the settings window.
