Your PTC relay is going out. The relay is on the compressor and needs to be replaced. It is a simple deal to replace just getting the part might be a little tough. So find a parts house and with model number of refrigerator get new one. They are about 30 bucks. Be sure to unplug unit before replacing the relay. Any more help just ask.

GE profile fridge making loud humming noise

The door being open so long caused warm moist air to collect and freeze inside the unit.

Take everything out, unplug it and let it thaw out for an entire day. All the frost will thaw, and probably run water all over the place so put towels down.

When you plug it back it, it should work fine.

Fan make noise

There are 2 things in that area that can make a noise, the ice maker, and an evaporator fan, depending on the model. The fan is an easy fix if the blade is just hitting something ,but you have to be abit mechanically inclined to get to it.The icemaker has a little motor that sometimes gets stuck in the ice harvest mode, then you just have to unstick it ,also depending on what kind of fridge you have..everything else is down at the bottom, compressor, condenser, ect. In any case you probably want to call a tech unless its old, because repairs would be more than it is worth.

1. Open the freezer to see if the noise gets louder. If the noise becomes louder with the freezer open, the noise is likely caused by the evaporator fan. If the evaporator fan is the culprit, replace it to get rid of the noise.
2. Take raer panel off inside freezer and check there is no ice build up which is hitting the fan
3. Pull the refrigerator away from the wall, and check the condenser fan at the back of the fridge. A metal panel may cover the fan, which can be unscrewed. Listen to see if the fan is the source of the noise. If it is, the fan may need to be cleaned or replaced.
4. Unplug the refrigerator, and listen to the back side of the fridge. The fans will immediately stop running. If the back of the fridge continues to make a noise after the fans have shut off, the sound is most likely coming from the compressor, which is located at the back of the fridge, near the bottom. If you have a compressor problem, you either have to replace the compressor or the entire refrigerator.

Freezer is not cold, defrosted everything, fans running, back sealed so cant get to any coils.making a clicking noise.flipped circuit breaker .never had prob before temp settings are on coldest settings ...

Is the clicking noise coming from the back side bottom ofthe fridge? If so its the compressor trying to kick in. Usually this is a death nail for a fridge. You say the fan is running is the fan inside the fridge fzr running and is there a fan under the backside of the fridge running? let me know and I will be glad to help more. Hope your day gets better

My fridge is making a clicking noise (like a car turn-signal) and the digital display in the fridge is out

The clicking is from the main control board relays clicking off and on . The part number you need is WR55X10656 . This board is located on the back , behind an 9X10 inch aluminum panel . It controls the digital display along with all other operational parts of the fridge .

Kenmore refrigerator 253.57192600 making clicking noise

It could be as simple as a bit of expansion and contraction of the wall panels or the damper which allows cooling to flow from the freezer to the fridge side.

Remove the back panel inside the freezer (if there's a removable panel there. There is a fan behind it - may be source of your problem.

i don't know jennair specifically being from england.
however, there is often a fan inside the back panel and the noise you heard was the fan hitting ice. the reason now not heard and fridge not working may be that the ice has built up so much the fan is jammed

Fridge making a noise

You have a bad relay on the mother board. It is behind a panel on the back of the fridge. You can view a diagram at http://www3.sears.com/imaging/ImagePageJava.shtml?productTypeID=0165000&brandID=0432&modelDesc=REFRIGERATOR%20R%20SERIES&modelNumber=GSH25KGREWW&documentID=G0502132&documentTypeID=PLDM&documentClassCode=PV&titleType=SEALED%20SYSTEM%20%26%20MOTHER%20BOARD&titleID=00008& It is # 801. The part # is WR55X10552 and cost is $124.69 @ http://www3.sears.com/. I replace this board all the time. Make sure to unplug the fridge first!

Fridge keeps ticking when not running???

Kevin, I'm going to give you a few scenerios to check out. The evaporator fan, inside the freezer will sometimes come in contact with ice and make this noise. Check your condensor fan, in back and make sure that is not hitting the shroud. If the overload on the compressor is tripping it will make a clicking sound, but it would be about every 4 to 5 minutes. If the unit goes into defrost, the evaportor coils tend to make a clicking sound. If you can be more specific as to where the noise is coming from, we might be able to help you better...Catriver...post back.
