Does the computer turn on? If it does, get into the ROM BIOS setup table and change to a different drive to boot up from. The "boot up" process is a written set of instructions in the ROM BIOS before the
hand off to the the Windows OS. Jeff

Hi
Rebooting a computer simply means, turning it off and then back on.

As for re-installing the computer, starting fresh, you would need the windows millenium cd. I've posted a few guides on how to do that, on newer windows versions, but they are not that different. (they are different but not so much, you should be able to figure it out)

How can I get proper drivers and Windows Millenium software downloads by machine serial number?

Windows Millenium has not been supported by Microsoft for many years now, and there are no legacy drivers or other downloads available for it.
Best thing you can do is to load Windows 7 or later on the machine (most machines that were capable of running Windows Millenium are also capable of running Windows 7).

You should upgrade your computer to XP, ME is a horrible version unfortunately. It is about 150$ for a copy of xp and then you will have a copy forever. The printer unfortunately will not work with Millenium.
thanks,

Computer common problems easy fix.

The most common problem with computers is them freezing up.
When applications dont load or freeze up.
The easiest way to fix most problems is usually just the simple act of "rebooting" the computer.
Most of us already know that.
but just in case you dont heres how.
when the computer seems frozen and you seem to have waited longer for it to unfreeze than it takes for bread to toast.. you can try the following.
press and hold the crtl anf alt buttons and double tap the del button.
on older computers using windows 98- 2000 and millenium editions it will usually reboot the computer. also works with older versions.
with xp and vista you will usually fet a differernt screen that will allow you to choose various options.. choose restart.
another way is to click on the start button located on the bottom left of your screen and choose restart option. if the computer is so frozen that nothing works you can press and hold the power button unti lthe computer shuts down.. wait 30 seconds and turn the computer back on..if that doesnt work then you may have to turn of the power switch..but only if you have to..with laptops you will have to take out the battery. when the comp reboots the computer should be unfrozen..if not you will need more help ..just ask us..

Reinstall

You can format XP and take necessary data on some disk or pendrive and then format it. And install your millenium in pc. Otherwise insert your millenium cd and reboot your pc. in bios select boot from cd option. Select other drive except in which xp is there. Then you will get 2 options of two operating systems. Select any one you want.
