Question about Acer Computers & Internet

Open Question

My Netbook is Acer, Aspire One 751H, Model ZA3, My Netbok has Acer eRecovery Management software Version 7.0.8. Before first use I have created Factory Default Disc as well Disc for Drivers and Applications. I want to reinstall Operating System as well as I want my data back which is in my documents. My OS crashed then I have tried both the options Alt F10 and from Recovery Disc. Both way, it is creating c:/backup folder but it is found to be empty. While using I have stored my data in my documents(User Account) Why the created folder C:/backup is empty? What has gone wrong? Which is correct method? Where we should store Data so that after recovery we will get it back?

SOURCE: d2d recovery

Hi,

Unfortunately once your original HDD has been replaced you lose all e-recovery features and there is no-way this can be reversed.

If you could get hold of the image from your old drive you maybe able to write it to your new, its a bit messy though.

The main reason for the "factory default image backup" you have not working now is because a snapshot of the C: drive is stored on D: drive so when you replaced the drive itself you basically made that disc useless for eRecovery features.

Sorry its bad news.

Cheers

SOURCE: accessing the acer aspire one hidden partition files using the f10 and alt f10 method

I am not sure if you are asking how to access it or not. I will assume you are. The One series does not have a restore partition on it. It comes with disks that you can use with an external drive to restore it.

SOURCE: restore acer aspire to factory setting

if you can not use the f10 or f12 key ..it means that it do not have the boot menu there ...or it do not have a restore partition ...the F10 command is available in Hp laptops..with a recovery partition made on the hard disk ..
here you will need a installation cd of the operation system you want to install and the drivers from the acer support site..to suit it ..and just boot from cd by choosing that in the bios setting boot sequence ..and go for it
Im not sure for the model but if it do not have a optical drive ..than you will need to make a usb flash drive bootable with windows in it ,,and for that you need this kinda soft ..
http://wintoflash.com/download/en/
this is a tool that will take a windows from a disk and put it in a usb unit and make it boot-able ..
also here is a windows Xp..image that can be burn on a disk with nero in the background ..and after that boot-from cd and install it ..
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5388204/Windows_Xp_Genuine
download it with utorrent..than be sure you have nero installed.and just insert a blank cd-r and double click the image file to burn it on disk ..
after that insert it in the laptop ..and restart ...if teh boot order is ok ..it will prompt you to boot from cd ..and press any key to continue..if not..go to bios by pressing F2 ..and in there on boot sector ..select cd /dvd first boot device ..and than use F10 to confirm and save changes..and restart an go for it ..
Do not forget to rate me ..

System recovery boot

The Acer Aspire line of netbooks have two methods to restore the computer to a working state: System Restore, an application included with Windows, or Acer eRecovery Management, a proprietary application that is packaged with Acer PCs.

If errors appear when running Windows, or if the computer begins to behave strangely, first run System Restore to determine whether reverting the PC to a previous state fixes the problem.
If the problem remains unresolved, or worsens, you can use Acer eRecovery Management to format the hard drive and reload the Acer Aspire netbook to its factory state.

Navigate to the "Start" menu. Select the "Control Panel."
Type "restore" into the Search box.
Press "Enter" then select "Restore Your Computer to an Earlier Time" from below the "Action Center."
Click "Open System Restore."
Click "Next" on the "Restore System Files and Settings" screen.

Select a restore point that was created when the computer was functioning properly. Click "Next," then click "Finish."
Click "Yes" to confirm.
Windows will perform a system recovery on the Acer Aspire One.

Acer eRecovery Management

Turn on the Acer netbook. Hold down the "Alt" and "F10" buttons simultaneously on the boot screen to load Acer eRecovery Management from the recovery partition.

Select "Restore Operating System to Factory Defaults" from the options.

Click "Next" to recover the system to its original state.

Reset to factory seting

Unlike other laptops, Acer Aspire notebook/laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer Aspire One Netbook 8.9 to factory setting.

Step 1: Before starting your Acer Aspire One laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.

Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.

Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer one to original factory settings.

Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer Aspire One is reset to factory settings.

Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your notebook data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window.
