I cant find my password to log into my wireless

You will have to go into the routers setup and chose a new password, If it requires you to enter the old password before it allows you to enter a new one , you can find the tiny reset button on the router and press it to restore it to factory default settings, be advised though, this will reset All the settings for your router, not just the wireless password, so you will have to configure it all again.

To get your wirless password (wep or wpa key) you can log-in to your router by typing in 192.168.2.1 in your address bar (Where you would type www.google.com)

After that you should a a page that resembles the one below:
logicaldemen_3.jpg

Click the Security button on the side under wireless.

Next you will get a log-in page the password should be blank unless someone else set up the router.

Now you will see a page like the one below:
logicaldemen_4.jpg

un-check the Obscure PSK box and that will show you the password needed to connect to wireless.

Hope this helps.

Not able to find wep code to connect my lap top to internet

Hello,
If you require the WEP key for the wireless network you will have to log in to the router interface and retrieve it. You can try the following steps..
1) Open internet explorer on any computer connected wired to the router. ( IF no computer is connected then connect your laptop through an Ethernet cable to the LAN slot on the router) 2) Delete everything from the address bar and type http://192.168.2.1 and hit enter. 3) Towards the left side under wireless click on security. 4) Now it will ask for the login password, do not type anything..just hit enter. 5) Now you will be in wireless security page. You should see Key 1, Key 2, Key 3 and Key 4. The check mark selected on either of the four with number or numbers and letters in it are the password. Make a note of it. 6) Now connect to the wireless network using the keys u made a note of.
Hope this helped.

How can i get the wep number on my router

Your wireless card in your computer or laptop needs to be configured with the router's wireless settings eg. the SSID and encryption key
The encryption key (network key) is in your wireless router, without this key the wireless router won't allow the computer or laptop to connect to this wireless router.
The WEP, WPA, WPA2 encryption key is in your router's wireless settings. Log into your router and got to the wireless settings, you will need to get the SSID and the encryption key. Then go to your computer or laptop's wireless card and configure it with the router's SSID and encryption key, so it will then connect to the wireless router and the Internet.

To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

I had to reset my router yesterday and now my dell inspiron is asking for the passkey to connect. where do i find this

Ok, you must reset the router up again, you need to log into router, with your browser, set default, login and password, go to the securities TAB, and set your WEP/WAP KEY. Once generated, copy/paste to a notepad document, save that. it's a 128 bit number. Then save your routers new configuration. Reboot your PC, now try to WiFi logon to the router's network, when asked for your "Passkey" your, WEP/WAP KEY, simply copy/paste back that, 128 bit or 16 bit hex number, key, that, you saved in notepad. reboot, There you are done.

I HAVE A BELKIN WIRELESS G ROUTER I AM TRYING TO HOOK THE DSI UP TO MY CONNECTION AND I CAN NOT CAN U PLEASE HELP I NEED THE WEP

If the WEP key is lost you can log into the router with a cable to change it or you can reset it to factory defaults.

To reset it:
With the router powered on, use a small thin object to press and hold the reset button for exactly seven seconds. The router lights will flash and this will restore the router to factory default.

After the reset no WEP key will be required unless you log in and set a new one.
