Question about MP3 & Digital Media Players

1 Answer

My computer is recognizing my mp3 player as a drive, instead of an mp3 device, and therefore not offering the same folders and therefore i do not see the thousands of songs that i have on the player. I only see the songs that were there when i bought the player.(preloaded).

How can i delete all files on my mp3 player using the computer

Your MP3 player can be connected to a computer through USB. You need to have the proper USB cable. Once connected, if your computer recognizes the device, tt should show as a Removable Drive and you can open folders just like any computer Herd Drvie.
If it is not recognized, take note that some players might need a driver for your specific operating system. In that case, please reformulate your queston, specifyiny your player ans computer system.

How to put msic on it

Hi,
Install the Windows driver included in the product package before connecting your Sylvania MP3 player. Insert the included driver CD into your CD-ROM drive and run the setup file if it does not load automatically. This driver makes sure your computer can recognize and operate the Sylvania MP3 player.
  • 2 Insert one end of the USB cable into the USB port on the Sylvania MP3 player.
  • 3 Insert the other end of the same USB cable into the USB port on the computer.
  • 4 Wait for the computer to recognize the Sylvania MP3 player as a connected device. Open your file manager or browser to locate the Sylvania MP3 player as a drive or connected device if your computer does not prompt you automatically.
  • 5 Open the file folder containing the MP3 or WMA digital music files you wish to download to your Sylvania MP3 player.
  • 6 Drag and drop the file or folder icons of your desired digital music onto the Sylvania MP3 player device icon. Drag and drop the digital music into open folders within the Sylvania MP3 player device icon as well.

No pc recognizes the V-touch 8gb mp3 player by Visual Land

Windows xp, Vista, and Windows7 should already have a driver included for the v-touch. It's possible that if your computer has a compact flash card reader, that it maybe preventing the v-touch driver from being correctly installed. Try using the "Safely remove Hardware" to temporarily remove your cf card reader. Then try plugging in your v-touch. It should now correctly install the driver and the v-touch will show up as a new drive. In Windows Device Manager under "Disk Drives" you should see 2 new devices - "Company PNP Platform OPN USB Device" and "Company PNP Platform SDC USB Device

I can't add or delete songs from my computer.

Try downloading "MEDIA MONKEY" it's a free media player and MP3 wizard. Just load it in and it will detect your player as a "device" and ask you to choose how to treat it( as player or drive)
Choose drive and you just drag and drop as a drive(if you choose mp3, it tends to randomize the playlist)

    Sansa m240 not recognized

If you're going to own an mp3 player, you may want to learn mumbo jumbo.

    Double-click My Computer
Double-click all the removable disk drives until you get a window with folders in it instead of an error message.
    Double-click My Computer again.
Double click My Music or wherever in the world you keep the music files on your computer.
Drag the files from the My Music (or other) folder to the folder that says Music.

    Comp not recognizing mp3 device

to gabby, some computer may not even recognize mp3 player from a removable disk, i would suggest that your mp3 player will serve as a back up...
tranfer all your music to a folder to a fixed drive like drive c: then change the format w/c suits for your pc's media player compatibility like mp3 formats then, after your done transfer again all your songs to your back up mp3, or better yet scan all your music w/ an anti virus like kaspersky, hope this would help

Tried the solution you offered for c240....

Go to Start --> Control Panel --> Printers and Other Hardware --> System --> hardware --> device manager --> right click on the usb port that is malfunctioning (should have a red or yellow exclamation by it), right-click it and click on Update Driver

If that fails, try another USB port on the computer to see if you have more success

My e250 mp3 player doesn't allow me to load anything

What I would recommend you to do is to make sure that your device is under MTP mode instead of MSC...to do that go under menu, setting, usb and then there should the two mode listed there...then you want to plug your device in the back of your computer..not in the front..tghat is very important....once you do that..open up your windows media player...click on your start thee sync panel..if your device is recognize properly it will be showing there on the right side..and if its not listed properly, it will say connect a device..if thats the case..click on your start menu right click on computer and then click on propetties, click under hardware and then device manager..your device should be showing there...check under disk drives to see if your device is showing there and if it doesnt you want to right click and hit uninstall...we dont want your device to be under disk drive ..we want it to be under windows portable device...once you uninstall it...go to http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/index.asp and find the driver for your device..and then connecct the device on the back of your computer...it should work properly..if you are still having any problems..let me know..i would be more than happy to assist you..
