Sounds like your PC is a bit confused. Go into Control Panel thren Programs & Features or in XP add/remove programs. Now remove anything which says "Adobe Flash" you may have more than 1 entry so delete them all. Give the computer a full reboot then goto http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?promoid=BUIGP and make sure you wait until its fully installed and gives you the successful message.
