the crown is a screw down type to keep the watch water tight. Unscrew the crown (what you refer to as the dial) and you will then be able to set the date, time, etc. and be able to wind the watch manually. P.S. You unscrew the crown by rotating it counter-clockwise.

Pull crown out to 1st position....Turning one way will alter the date and turning the other way will alter the day.

I have that watch too, and I love it. I never had a manual, but the only way I could set the date was to pull the crown out all the way and advance the time. Each 24 hours (clockwise) will advance the date one day. Turning the time counterclockwise will advance the day. Most day/date watches have two positions when you pull out the stem, first click for day/date, all the way for time. This watch seem to have only one position.

I found users instructions on roxy website at:
We were able to program our watch completely!!!
If you look on the back of the watch that you bought on the metal plate, it tells you the style. Ours was the Roxy 70's digital watch, and I found specific instructions at (even if this is not your style, the instructions may work):

Enter "www.armitron.com", select "support" and then watch instructions" and a set of diagrams will appear.
Go to the one that looks like yours (use the two brown arrow heads to scroll through the list) and download the instructions.
