Question about Dell 924 All-in-One InkJet Printer

Won't open Ever since I updated my Windows XP computer to service pack 3 I have had problems with my printer. It just wouldn't work. I finally found out how to re-install the drivers and now it will work if you click file up near your browser but I can't get it to open. Can you help me with this?

For some reason the first time I re-installed the drivers it didn't completely set up right. I uninstalled again and the second time when I re-installed it went through the complete process and now everything is working fine.

The printer will not print it is saying i need to run windows xp spz.

> SPZ Not quite. It is "ESS-****-TWO". Access: http://WindowsUpdate.Microsoft.com Do a "custom" scan. When it completes, Windows Update will offer "Service Pack 2 (two)" or "Service Pack 3 (three)" as an update. Allow it to download and install that update. Restart, and reaccess the web-site, and there will more updates. Then, try again to print.

Windows XP is not the latest operating system, and has very limited support on the MIcrosoft website.

Is the Windows XP operating system updated to service pack 3?

I would recommend updating the operating system to windows 7 32 bit in order to solve this problem permanently. It has similar specifications as XP, but will be supported by Microsoft when having such printer problems.

You could, also, try to delete the printer and reinstall the xp drivers for it to see if that works for you, if you choose not to upgrade the operating system.

Good luck on this computer/printer repair.

Disconnect the printer from the computer. Shut down the computer. Hook the printer back to the computer and turn on the printer. Now, turn on the computer and the "Found New Hardware" wizard will install the printer for you. Thank you, Dana. P.S. You should update to Service Pack 3

Won't print anything on line

hi , this problem usually occurs when a user is having internet explorer 8 and hp smart web printing is not installed or if you are using windows xp then the service pack is not updated
so the best solution would be to use internet explorer 7 and install hp smart web printing from cd
or to down load firefox and print through it
if you have windows xp then you can update the service pack 3

Need help downloading and installing driver for hp photosmart C3100 printer said required section usbstor.inf not found xpsp3

Search your computer for the USB inf file usbstor.inf. Is this the first USB device you have ever used? What is the operating system on your computer? It appears as though it is searching for the Microsoft Service Pack 3 for XP, and can't find the file within the service pack, or the service pack. Have you recently installed MS updates?

Olympus P440 Dose not work on Vista

The driver for the P-440 printer will work in Windows Vista. To install it you will need to run it in Windows compatibility mode XP service pack 2. Download the P-440 driver to your desktop from the olympusamerica.com website. Open the zip file, right click the mouse on the setup.exe file then left click on Properties. There will be a compatibility tab there. Select XP Service pack 2 and then click Ok. Connect the printer and as it goes through the found new hardware wizard direct to the folder location on your desktop for the files it needs to load the device driver.

There are 3 possible things wrong. You will have to try to test them all. 1) The USB port could be bad. Try plugging another USB device into it and see if the computer recognizes it. Try a USB mouse, portable music player, or any other type of USB device. If it does, then the port is good, and move onto #2. If not, then try another port. If all USB ports are bad, then you will need to have that fixed. 2) The USB cable may be bad. Try swapping out the USB cable. Try using a different USB cable. Also try using the original USB cable with another USB device on another computer. 3) The printer may be bad. Contact vendor support, or just return is to where you purchased it. Another place to see if the device is even being recognized is the Deviec Manager in windows. This can be viewed by Right clicking on My Computer and selecting "Manage". In the Computer Management window that opens, select Device Manager. If you see any question marks there, then your computer may "see" the printer, but the drivers are not installed properly. If you do not see any question marks or the printer, then there is a problem with the printer.
