On the tachometer back you have secured a wire thread just like the one from the brakes of a bicycle. The other end of the wire is secure to the engine. This wire complete, need to be replaced.

As a test first disconnect it from the tachometer and see if ok if not then the problem is with tachometer.

You should try to remove only the Dark Green wire from tachometer. Start engine and see if the tachometer now shows zero. If it still full RPM the you need a new tachometer.

Below is a link with multifunction kit which includes the wiring diagram for you. This will help you a lot.

No you just need a new tachometer, is not very expensive for your case.

We have here a link that has some tachometer but you can also check other places before buying a new one.

Hard starting on Yamaha 130 2 stroke. Always starts easily with ether. Choke works well.

This can have some reasons:
1 clogged carburettors. Too less fuel means a hard start.
2 Worn spark plugs
3 Loss of compression... On a 2-stroke, measuring compression is not an exact science. Have throttle wide open. No spark plugs, check compression on all cylinders. They should be all within 1bar from eachother...

Have 115 Hp mercury outboard motor missing at full throttle and on idle. At mid throttle it is running fine. Any Idea what the problem could be. Thanks, Milton

Have your spark plugs changed AND carbs cleaned and adjusted.
Usually that can also be caused by a seized advance system ( plate under the flywheel, commanded to turn with the throttle linkage... )

sounds like a bad coil or trigger. Find the offending cylinder with a timing light and physically move the coil to a good firing cylinder. If the problem follows the coil, you have it, if not you need a trigger,
