Question about JVC LT-23X475 23 in. EDTV-Ready LCD Television
After running about two hours the TV screen goes black, but the sound continues. If the TV is turned off and turned on again, the picture will return, but only briefly. It seems related to high room temperature. The transformer feels quite hot when this is going on.
Capacitors are most likely to blame here, there are several that most likely are on the power board and are blown if you get them replaced the tv will function normally, the heat can come from the transformer since it is not getting smooth power from the capacitors. it is working very hard to dump the spikes in the electricity. I ups backup power supply rated for the tv's wattage will help smooth power and protect your investment.
