The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

This error for all the listed cores in device manager? This typically a root system driver and without the need to ever change. I'd first remove all cores from device manage. Right click and uninstall device...however do not "remove software". Let Windows reinitialize the hardware and reinstall.
It's also possible your hardware may have some additional chipset drivers that need to be installed to work correctly. Download the Intel chipset installer from your PC's manufacturer support page.
This most likely just OS issue if it's just an isolated event. However if you have intermittent odd errors like this all over the place then there could be a deeper issue like HDD causing corruption.
Hope this helps...

Did not install drivers for this device (Code 28)

Windows error code 28 indicates a missing or damaged driver file, which can keep devices connected to your computer from working correctly. This code appears in Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server editions. In most cases, you can stop this code from appearing by installing a new driver or by removing the old driver and replacing it with a different one.

Drivers
A driver is any piece of software that controls such devices as your graphics card, keyboard or printer. Windows operating systems come with many device drivers, and installs them automatically. Specialty devices, such as scanners, cameras or add-on cards, usually have their own proprietary drivers, which must be installed from a disk or downloaded file. b> Troubleshooting b> When any modern version of Windows can't find the driver to operate a device, it displays error code 28. You can find out more about the problem by opening Windows Control Panel, then choosing "System." Select the "Hardware" tab, then choose "Device Manager." From the Device Manager, select the problem device. In most cases, the device will have a small yellow exclamation mark next to its listing in the Device Manager. Right-click the device and choose "Properties" to see more information about the problem. Driver Installation b> You can install a missing driver on your own from the Properties dialog. Click the "Reinstall Driver" button and choose to install the software automatically. If automatic installation doesn't work, and you have a downloaded driver or one on disk, choose to install the driver from a specific location, then direct Windows to the correct file. If you don't currently have a driver for the device, visit the support section of the manufacturer's website. Most companies offer downloadable, updated drivers for all their devices. b> Considerations b> Sometimes Windows doesn't correctly recognize a device, even after you've installed a driver. This could happen because you used the wrong version of the driver or a driver meant for a different model of the device. Your existing driver may also be damaged and require reinstallation. In some cases, a fault in Windows may cause it not to recognize devices correctly. Microsoft offers an online diagnostic tool called Microsoft Fixit that can scan your operating system and tell you why code 28 is appearing.
Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll through all of your devices If you see a yellow question or exclamation mark ? ! or a red X you will need to update the drivers for this device right click select update driver/reinstall driver if you can see your usb device but its not working scroll to Ports(Com&Ltd) right click to update driver If you computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it. Rather doing a driver hunt which can take hours http://download.cnet.com/slimdrivers-free/3000-18513_4-75279940.html Windows XP/Vista/7/8
it might take some time being a freeware driver solution Note: it will find all of your outdated drivers
This will automatically search for and find the correct driver you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point.

Click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated.

Hope this helps.

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.

Cause of the Code 28 Error A Code 28 error is caused by a missing driver for that particular piece of hardware. There are any number of reasons that a driver might not be installed for a device but your troubleshooting of the problem will be the same no matter the root cause.
Resolution
  1. Restart your computer if you haven't done so already.

There is always the slim chance that the Code 28 error you're seeing in Device Manager was caused by a fluke with Device Manager or in your BIOS. If that's the case, a reboot might fix the Code 28.

  2. Did you install a device or make a change in Device Manager just before you noticed the Code 28? If so, it's very possible that the change you made caused the Code 28 error.

Undo the change, restart your PC, and then check again for the Code 28 error.

Depending on the changes you made, some solutions might include:

    • Remove or reconfigure the newly installed device.
    • Roll back the driver to the version prior to your update.
    • Use System Restore to undo recent Device Manager changes.
  3. Update the drivers for the device. Installing the latest manufacturer supplied drivers for a device with the Code 28 error is the most likely solution to the problem.

Important: Make sure you install the drivers for the correct operating system. For example, if you're using Windows 7 32-bit, install the drivers designed for that specific version of Windows. Many Code 28 errors are caused by attempting to install the wrong drivers for a device.

  4. Install the latest Windows service pack. Microsoft regularly releases service packs and other patches for their operating systems, one of which may contain a fix for the cause of the Code 28 error.

Note: I do know that certain service packs for Windows Vista and Windows 2000 have contained specific fixes for some instances of the Code 28 error in Device Manager.

  5. Replace the hardware. As a last resort, you may need to replace the hardware that has the Code 28 error.

It's also possible that the device is not compatible with this version of Windows. You can check the Windows HCL to be sure.

Note: If you still think there is still a software/operating system component to this Code 28 error, you could try a repair install of Windows. If that doesn't work, try a clean install of Windows. I don't recommend doing either of those more drastic options before you try replacing the hardware, but you may have to if you're out of other options.
Please let me know if you've fixed a Code 28 error using a method that I don't have above. I'd like to keep this page as updated as possible.
Applies To The Code 28 error could apply to any hardware device in Device Manager but most Code 28 errors seem to affect USB devices and sound cards.
Any of Microsoft's operating systems could experience a Code 28 Device Manager error including Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and more.

Code 28 can not be install on my pc

error code 28, means a Driver Error,

the solution is to go to the device manager,

1.) start, control panel, system, hardware, device manager,
2.) locate a device with a yellow highlight
3.) right click it and select update , follow the onscreen instructions

or
reinstall the driver using the driver cd. that came with it.

if that fails you need to go to the manufactures website for that particular device , locate the driver and download it, then install it. PS if its on the mainboard you can go to the OEM system builder you have like dell or hp , if you dont have and oem system go to the mainboad manufactures web site, Biostar and MSI.

What is code 1 and code 28 and how to repair?

All computer hardware needs device drivers to communicate with the operating system. In Windows quite a few device drivers are included with the installation. But for a lot of hardware, special device drivers are required. If drivers are corrupted or not installed properly, Windows will report a device error. One of the device errors that the Windows Device Manager can report is a code 28 error.

A code 28 error means that there is no driver installed for the hardware device. Most likely Windows does not have a default driver for the device, or it would be installed. This means that a special driver from the hardware manufacturer is required. The code 28 error can occur for any type of device, USB devices, audio devices, video devices, etc. In general however the error will occur for the more exotic hardware since Windows already supports quite a few common devices by default.
To fix code 28 errors, it is required to install the drivers for the device that is causing the code 28 error. You can use the device manager to update the drivers. Select the device in error, right-click the device and in the pop-up menu select Update Driver Software. Windows will ask you for the location to install the drivers from, so make sure you download the drivers for the device from the hardware manufacturer’s website first, and select the local folder where you saved the download drivers for the update.

If you can not find the drivers for the device in error, or are not comfortable in using the Windows Device Manager, you can also use a driver update tool to find, download and update all device drivers for you. A driver update program will accurately identify your hardware, including the device in error, and automatically install the latest drivers for it. This will solve code 28 errors.
It is also recommended to have Windows configured for automatic updates. This will ensure that any new drivers that are supported by Microsoft will automatically install or get updated, so that your computer will be compatible with as many devices and hardware as possible.

Code 1:
Error (Code 1) is a known error that is caused by outdated or corrupt drivers. Failure to keep your drivers up to date could result with system malfunctions and device problems.
Solution: It is highly recommended that you update your drivers now to fix the problem.

More Info: Device Manager may report about and provide resolutions. To view the error codes, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, and in the Open box, type control panel.
In Control Panel, double-click System, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
Double-click a device type. For example, double-click Modems to see the devices in that category.
Double-click a device to view its properties. If an error code has been generated, the code appears in the Device Status box that is on the General tab.
