Question about Kenmore 22422 Top Load Washer
My Kenmore washer will do everything but the final spin. The water empties from the tub. After the timer finishes I can set the dial to spin & sometimes it spins & sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, all I have to do is open & close the lid & it will spin. Is it the the lid switch?
This is a very typical symptom of a lid switch that is either broken or has come loose. If your lid switch is mounted on the right hand side of the lid, make sure the mounting screws are tight and the lid strike is in place (this is a plastic piece on the lid that activates the switch when closed). If your lid switch is on the left hand side in the rear under the washer rim (out of view), you may have to adjust the rod that activates it.
