I'm having the blue convergence problem exactly as desrcibed in this forum and have purchased new IC's. I also purchased a pack of 3.9 ohm 2 watt flameproof 5% tolerance resistors as described as well. I have two resistors on my convergence board that are discolored, I can't tell what the original color codes on these resistors are as the bands now all look black and the position numbers are not the same as described in the other posts. The discolored resistors on my board are labled R2726 and R2732. My question then is are these two resistors also 3.9 ohm 2 watt resistors? or another way of putting it is are all of these resistors on the board the same type? Or do I need to find out the ratting of these two resistors and purchase different ones that those I already have?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

If your tv is not a DLP the problem is in the convergence, try to adjust it using your original remote control go to the setting menu then to the convergence section. Adjust the red and blue convergence. you should move the red and the blue in up, down and left, right if this color does not move far enough your convergence IC is already defective. Replacing this convergence IC will solve the problem. In locating this convergence IC you should remove the back cover of your unit but be sure to unplug it before doing this. This convergence IC is attached to a large aluminum plate, it is the heat sink, and it has a marking of stk- ### followed by numbers. You can try to pull it out using a soldering iron and soldering pump but be careful you may damage the board and cause much problem to your unit. Or you can contact a technician to do it for you and save you from stress good day and best regards.
hi ,thats is your convergence circuit is defect, you got 2 integrated circuit call
STK 390-xxx the ic # are depend of the tv chassis model number,
they got to be replace whit new one/ the component arround the ic like resistor ,capacitor
and some time 2 transistor for the minus 25volt,and plus 25 volts
some time you replaced just the stk ic and its ok,anyway taht have to be trouble shoot
if you know a good tech its will be better, or if you have some experience whit this ok
that is an hour job about to verify the circuit component near the ic like some low value resistor
.thats all i can do from here....
hope that give you an idea and have a merry christmas

The IC /resistor in convergence circuit(blue) is bad convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks! See link for more detail http://www.ehow.com/how_4575598_yourself-projection-tv-repair-convergence.html
you have a bad convergence IC and probably one or two precision resistors next to the IC`s that have to be un-soldered and replaced, if your very proficient with electronics you can do the repair if not call a tech. If you decide to do the repair yourself
you`ll need a volt/Ohm meter (to find the bad resistor(s) and soldering equipment to remove the parts and re-install new parts, let me know and I`ll get you part numbers for IC`s, you will have to check resistors and tell me which ones are bad for their respective part numbers.
replace ic chips pt# stk392-120 or stk392- 150 and there are 12 resistors located near ic clips pt# 6r8 ( color code blue - gray - gold - gold ) board location no#s 3149 thu 3160 if you look close you may find two resistors discolored as i found on my convergence circut board , also use heat sink compound on new ic chips , take your time to mark all wire connectors going to board from tv , also use .022 dia gage rosin -core solder and a 15- 25 watt soldering iron you may have to adjust the red - blue convergence afterwards my tv set is 3 yrs old also ( thanks holbert )
