I wouild like to identiry the exact faulty components. This appears to be a common fault on this model and I would have hoped the fix was common also. Thanks.

I was hoping that one of the experts did have the exact solution as I was advised that this common fault has appeared on "Fixya" before and appeared to be rectified ok, I think! Thanks guys.

I found a 10v 1000uf cap about half way along and towards the top of the power board was the problem in my conia cpdp4209

Capacitors should be Flat as a board on Top ,if any of them look Bugled, vented or puffed up on top replace them and yes 1000uf 10v is also one of them.

Hello,

its a bad capacitor on the power board that is causing the clicking sound. Obviously, there is something wrong with the power board of your TV.

The power supply board is defective that's why the TV won't power up. Its receiving power but it cannot transfer the current to the necessary part of the TV because a capacitor, diode, etc may have been faulty. Until these bad components are replaced, the TV might not come on.

If you know about TV repairers, I would suggest that you open the TV and read the power board/panel with a meter, detect the bad component and replace it. Take note that TV stores a lot of current that can shock, so leave the TV for a while before you open it.

Good luck.

    Hello,

to fix this problem, you need a meter. You just have to read the power board in other to detect the bad component(s) and make every necessary replacement.

Since you are a retired tech, this should be an easy task for you. The problem is certainly from the power board. But without knowing what part of the board that is causing the problem, you cannot proffer a solution. This is why you need the meter.

    Take care.

How can I connect a pc to a conia plasma tv

Your TV is supposed to have a DVI connector. But I only found that information on 1 website.
Your computer needs to have a DVI (white) connector in the back, just connect it to the same connector on the TV. You'll need a DVI cable too.
Then you will have to go into the menu and set your TV for PC input.

Not getting any sound on my conia cpdp4209

Check the speaker/s first. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience.

My tv keeps turning itself off and on??? conia 42" Plasma -HDMI Product code CPDP4209

The TV has a Auto On/Off timer, so I would locate that option in the menu, and make sure it isn't set up to do it. If you find it and it is set to Off, I would imagine it is a hardware problem, which I hope it isn't! Good Luck

I have the same tv with the same problem. On close inspection I found a capacitor was leaking. Replacing the capacitor fixed the tv. The capacitor is a 10v 1000uf, it is about in the centre and toword the top of the power board. I hope this helps.

42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Most likely what happened is one of the capacitors went bad. When a capacitors goes bad it produces a popping sound. This could be an easy and cheap fix if you find the bad capacitor or capacitors. The bad capacitor will have a bulging top most likely on the power board but could be anywhere.
