The first thing to check is the sensor in the door, see if this is working normally and get back to me on this and we can look into other things, if its not the sensor

If the sensor looks fine, check the sensor near the flame ignitor as that would also cause it not to run

Let me know if you need any help doing this

how did you check the sensors? Make sure the dryer sensor isn't cracked or broken off at all. Try unplugging it for a few minutes to reset it. Does it sound like the motor is trying to spin?

Gas dryer does not start when ignition button is pushed.

a dryer is not working at all that's not good! But it doesn't mean you need to go appliance shopping just yet. It may be something very simple like a broken door latch, a bad door switch or even a broken door switch actuator, in a kenmore dryer there is a tab thats sticks out of a hole in the wall that allows the dryer to run only if the door is shut, other models may have button that protrudes out of the dryer and when the door is shut, this allows the dryer to run. These switches go out from time to time, also if a dryer is full of lint build-up over time this will cause the dryer high limit or fuse to blow. The fuse is located near where the blower is in most cases. When the air in the dryer gets way too hot the fuse/hi-limit will blow and the house wont burn down

The door latch is about $5. Replace it.
Any appliance parts store has them.

Kenmore dryer 70 Series doesn't shut off, timer continues to run

there are 2 different kinds of units made back then.
one has a push to start button that could have a stuck contact causing the unit to think you are pushing the button and want it to run again.
the other could have a stuck motor switch and thats not available separately. you would have to replace the motor. try to clean any lint out of the motor if you have that type. use compressed air to blow the lint out of the motor. it usually works to get the lint out and it can cause the switch to stick.

Signal

Kenmore 70 series. Model/Stock 66702692 Serial MG2402832

Cycle Signal works but then won't shut off until I open up the dryer door - it just keeps buzzing for hours. Also the dryer will turn on if I close the door ( and arrow is within a number and not on off) without pressing the start button. So if door is closed - the dryer will run or buzz (depending on arrow). How do I fix this?

Thank you
