Have you moved? Is it any further away from before? We had to buy a new "digital" video monitor because we moved and our wireless router interfered. Turn your router off and see if it works.

I am having serious 'static' problems on my monitor. It goes away sometimes but not for long. Is the problem with my monitor, power cord or hard drive?

The CRT Monitor just needs to be degaussed. In the settings of the monitor the should be an icon that looks like a U magnet with a line through it, click that button and you should be all set. Hope this helps =]

I replaced my ram and now my monitor won't work. I took out the new ram, put the old back in and still no monitor. Everything I read mentions video card...where is that?

Being eMachines it is probably on board VGA. You can check by looking to see if the VGA lead to the monitor plugs into a VGA card or the motherboard.
Unfortunately it may be caused by static discharge when the RAM was replaced if you didn't observe anti static precautions.
Hope its a VGA board fault but if you install a VGA card and turn off the on board VGA that will work.
Hope that helps.

The Monitor has a constant green fuzzy look, almost like static

Try it on another PC, check the connector at both ends of the VGA cable. If it still has problem, the next step will be taking it apart, but you should look through my pictures first so you will know what to look for (bad caps with bulging/leaking top) inside without any test equipment.

Static interference problem

The Graco digital iMonitor scrambles the signal as it travels between the monitor and the receiver, making signals nearly impossible to be heard by others.

I had good experience with this product, it didn't suffer from the static noise problem.

My monitor sounds like it's sizziling when it comes on from sleep mode. Why is that?

You Have Static Buildup........ run a fabric softener sheet across the screen, to discharge the static.

all TVs, Monitors, etc... do this from time to time.

ASUS 24

Hi, Henry. I contacted Asus and their answer was to unplug completely the monitor (connections and power supply) and wait... I can't believe it, but it worked. And I say I can't believe it, cos that's something I already did... but this time it worked.

Their answer was: This may be caused by static fields. If the monitor is unpluged for a couple of minutes (may be half an hour, to be completly sure), it will discharge, and it will work. The monitor has a security circuit that prevents it to switch on if static fields are detected.

Anyway... could be... but I'm not sure about their answer... looking for another monitor and I'll try so sell this one. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Alex
