Webcam C600 snapshot button does not work - Logitech Webcam

you need "camera" software. The stuff that comes loaded in skype can be pretty annoying since it only activates what it needs, apparently Microsoft has decided we DON'T NEED that function anymore. My snapshot gallery button is greyed out, and the "take snapshot" button is completely gone.

Instructions

1. • 1 Click the "Start" button. Click on "All Programs" and then click "Quick Play." The Quick Play main menu will appear.
     
   • 2 Click the "Music, Video, Pictures" application icon. This button looks like a headset, film and photos. The "Music Video Pictures" page will appear.
     
   • 3 Double-click "HP Webcam" from the "Source" list. The webcam application will open.
     
   • 4 Double-click the webcam screen and it will open to full page view. Press the "Esc" key on the keyboard to restore the webcam screen to smaller view. Click the "Record" button at the bottom of the screen to record video using your webcam.
     
   • 5 Click the camera icon at the bottom of the screen to take a snapshot. Find your pictures in a folder named "My Snapshots."

Compaq Presario CQ50-215NR notebook, come with a program called QuickPlay. You can use QuickPlay, a free software program, to play audio and video, to view pictures, and to record videos with your webcam or take pictures.

Click on "Start," "All Programs" and "QuickPlay."

2Click on the "Video Icon" that is located on the tool bar of the program, next to the DVD option. Once you've done this you will be able to view yourself on your computer screen.

Click on the "Record" button or the "Snapshot" icon to begin using your webcam. The record option will record video, whereas the snapshot will take a picture of yourself using the webcam.

5. There is a row of seven buttons above that rectangle: the seventh is for taking snapshots and the sixth for recording videos.
6. Videos and pictures are saved at:
Pictures -- C:\Users\Public\Public Pictures\My Snapshots
Videos -- C:\Users\Public\Public Videos\HP Webcam

sometimes it doesnt say "hp web cam" it says "usb video device"

Do you have the Veo Digital Studio Application? If so, double click on the icon for it:
1. Click the Take A Snapshot button on launch your Veo camera.
2. Focus/ adjust as necessary. Use the Small, Medium, and Large buttons to select the desired resolution, then click Take a Snapshot.
3. Click:
a) Retake Snapshot - To take another snapshot *if you don't like the one you took*.
b) Click Save- To save your picture. Select the destination folder and rename the picture if desired. If left unchanged, the picture will be save in the default directory C:\Program Files\Veo Digital Studio\Gallery\Photographs.

its crap i got same problem. but with msn messenger. shit freezes and stays on.
