Check that the connectors between the display screen and the mother board is connected properly. If it seems to be plugged in properly, then the problem could be a faulty connector itself, and you will need to replace it.

Are you talking of an external monitor? If so, did you try connecting the monitor with the laptop on? If that is the case, then you probably disrupted or shorted the circuitry on the monitor, and you will have to get the monitor serviced..

Must be a short circuit somewhere. I guess the best thing to do would be to service the laptop..

You did not mention what did you had serviced, is it the motherboard or the monitor. Also plz make sure that the internal and the external connections of your computer are done correctly. Are you able to boot to BIOS or the safe mode window? If not then the issue should be with the monitor itself.

My Satellite A200 will not start sign says resuming windows and the screen goes black and windows does not start. Windows VISTA BASIC installed

I would suggest you disconnect your Satellite A200,then restart Vista to get it up and going. Then go check in Device Manager, which you get in Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager. In the dropdown list under Sound/Video and Game controllers, find your A200 open it by clicking on it and see what the problem is {very likely a driver clash or Vista incompatible driver}.Uninstall the device until you find the correct driver software.Regards.Georgeo

Latop screen

seems that the repaired screen has not been new either, it is up to you if you are satisfied with it or not, if the laptop is repaired it should be done perfectly and check if they stated on the repair if a new or used screen is replaced

PC or monitor, signal problems

your monitor is telling you it's on it's last legs..either that or your compaq has a bad video section. either is more vital than a video cable being loose.
