Question about Fisher and Paykel Fisher Paykel Intuitive Eco Washer IWL15

1 Answer

The cold water is not flowing well into the machine. It is just dripping. I've swapped the hose with the hot (this has not helped). The hose, when disconnected from the back of the machine seems to have good water pressure - there seems to be something in the connection of the hose to the machine. They are 'daft' plastic connections... Any ideas ??

Hi just read your posting. Now the place you unscrewed the hose from on the machine end is the water valve. If you look at the water valve from the back of the machine you should see a plastic filter inside the water valve.Clean this filter if it is blocked. Now refit hose to machine and try a fill cycle again. If it still has inadequate water flow then the water valve needs replacing. If it needs replacing I can guide you step by step to replace the valve.Looking forward to your reply.

I have a kenmore ultra fabric care 80 series washing machine.. it will not stop filling up with water.. I have to turn off the water or it will over flow. it is very used machine... Please Help...

most likely a problem with the diaphragm of the water shutoff solenoid
diaphragms are available or get a complete unit
if it has hot and cold solenoids ( hot and cold water hoses ) and you are not using the hot just swap the hoses over and only use the hot water settings
that way the cold water comes in through the hot water solenoid

What does "HC" mean?

The HC code indicates that the computer thinks the cold water inlet is getting hot water. The hot water inlet has the cold water coming in. Take off the inlet hoses and double check your water lines. If needed, swap the connections. While you have the hoses off, clear the filters and check for leaks. Check the flow rate and replace the hoses if the water flow is restricted. (Anti-burst hoses can reduce the flow when they detect a leak.)

If the hot water supply is correctly connected to the hot water inlet, then the electronic control board is getting faulty information. Unplug the washer for several minutes. If the code repeats, then the valve may be faulty. Alternative causes of the problem are the hoses, the wiring or the control board.

I hope this helps.

Water does not get hot on a hot wash

Shut off the water. Disconnect & check the BOTH water supply hoses at the MACHINE to check for obstructions / kinks / etc: Check for and clean any strainer / filter on the hoses and inlet to the washer. Direct the hoses into a tub or other container and turn water ON. make sure you have water flow from BOTH hoses and that one is HOT and the other is COLD. If OK, reconnect to machine. Turn water back ON. Choose a WARM wash.

If you get COLD only, you probably have a bad HOT solenoid - if HOT only you have a bad COLD solenoid. Be sure by:

Shut water off and swap hose connections (hot to cold & cold to hot) and try again.

If you get COLD only, you probably have a bad COLD solenoid - if HOT only you have a bad HOT solenoid. If you get HOT only, you probably have a bad COLD faucet / hose - if HOT only you have a bad COLD faucet / hose.

Replace the bad solenoid as needed. Good luck!

Cold water isn't coming on, only hot?

Not sure what ur saying have u tried changing the hot cold hoses and see what happens? u may have a bad water inlet valve or a bad water temperature switch? first make sure ur getting hot from the house outlet, u can check with a multi meter for continuity to see if either is out

Hot water fills very slow(30 MIN OR MORE TO FILL) good water flow from spicket to washer, screens are clear. sewems to be something with the washer its self

Might be a bad inlet valve. To confirm, swap the hot and cold hoses to your washer so that the cold water feeds the hot water connection and the hot water feeds the cold water connection. Turn off both hot and cold water faucets. Set the washer for a warm water wash. Turn on the cold water faucet, and check the flow. Then turn off the cold water faucet, and turn on the hot water faucet and check the flow. If the cold water flow fill slowly, then the problem is with the inlet valve.

It an easy part to obtain from an appliance supply house. To install disconnect the hoses to the back of the machine, and remove the back panel to get access to the valve. Should only take a couple of minutes to remove and install. Hope this helps you.

My maytag washer has a water temp. problem I,ve replacrd the water temp switch (pt.# 37001263) 4 pole switch several times but the problem still returns I,m getting hot water insted of a cold water...

You say that you are getting hot water instead of cold on rinse... Does that mean that when you select hot water wash you get cold?
If so, the machine 'thinks' it is giving water that is the wrong temp.
You may be sure that the hoses are the right way round, but if the water temp is opposite to what it should be, there's obviously something amiss!
Try swapping the hoses and see what happens...If the hoses are 'right', it could be that the water inlet valves are 'wrong'. It could be that the 'cold' wires are on the 'hot' inlet valves!! & vice versa
Good luck....Nomess

MAchine fills slowly. Have cleaned the screens.

Check the solenoid. You can swap the hot and cold water hoses and set the wash for hot but cold will come out. Then you can see if the flow is better. If it is the cold valve isn't opening all the way.

Check 1st if water is flowing well from the hose. hold it over the sink or bucket/if not could be faulty water valve..Put valves back to original as hot may have a reducer to cut down pressure hence the pulsing that you say...

Make sure you clean both screens at each end of hose. If they are clean, you got dirt caught in valve. Good luck.

No cold water

Check the strainer in the hose where it connects to the faucet.  If it is clogged it will slow the water flow.  There may also be a strainer at the end of the hose that connects to the washer.
